No, not a euphemism for some niche sexual practice :P

Quite some time ago I met a girl who is something of a forum darling for FBSM.  She has a very large number of greens and only one grey on here and she is probably in the top 10% for number of +ve reports.

My meeting with her was distinctly underwhelming and I left wondering whether it was me and had I built her up in my mind to a point where she was never going to live up to my expectations.  I also wondered whether, as it was my first visit, she was perhaps a little reserved until she knew and was comfortable with me.  As a FBSM provider her services are obviously a little vanilla and reports on here describe her an an attractive, enthusiastic provider but I just found her fairly plain and clinical.

I never left a review as it would have been totally out of step with her reputation and I decided that it was probably just me.

Now, we know that peer pressure is a strong force, there have been plenty of studies on it and while some revel in being 'out of step' most just want to fit in.  There are a number of instances where, an otherwise, well regarded girl receives a neutral or neg and others then pipe up to say that they received the same but never said anything at the time.

My meeting with this girl was over 2 years ago and well outside the period for writing a review on here but as I didn't then, I wouldn't do so now anyway.  I suppose that I felt that by doing so would needlessly question her service as it was obviously not a belief held by others.  I think it would probably have been a neutral and I've just read her other neutral and it sounds like it mirrors my experience.

Will anybody else on here admit to keeping quiet or pulling their punches on a review for fear of being in the minority?

I always try to be honest with my reviews, whether good, bad or "meh". Sometimes, your milage does indeed vary. If an SP has a long list of greens, adding a single neutral or indeed negative review isn't going to destroy her reputation.

I know what you mean though - sometimes when I've visited a very popular SP, I've left a bit underwhelmed, as she hasn't met the ridiculously high expectations that I've built up in my head. Some of my very best punts have been when I have low or absolutely no expectations at all, and have been very pleasantly surprised.

It's often been said on UKP that if an SP has a sea of positives, the occasional neg or neutral can add to the SP's credibility.

There are so many fluffies and white knights out there, that dozens of glowing reviews can cause punter scepticism.

I agree with Chazz's comments. And I would add that an SP can quickly get put on a pedestal. All it takes is two or three glowing reviews by punters. Other punters then really want to see her, all the more so, if she is difficult to get a booking with. Then throw in a fluffy who enthusiastically posts comments on reviews left by others.  Then you get other punters who post about trying, but failing to get a booking, which, of course makes them all the more keen. It doesn't take much for expectations to grow and grow.

I can understand where you’re coming from Mr Garmin, but I really wouldn’t worry about peer pressure on UKP especially now. Yes fanboys may come to defend their favourite SP, but you’ll have other members chiming in to counterbalance that, I’ve even seen mods intervening in defence of the reviewer.

As long as it’s not purely for shock value and seeking attention or even a revenge review from an EAS sufferer, any negative review of a forum darling should be most welcomed.

FWIW, I would suggest be free to express your experience, 'cos we are all different.

This  neg review of HSG comes to mind: https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=433713.0

It's one of only two neg reviews. They stand out in a sea of green dots.

A fan boy showed up and his replies are #15 #16 #17...

I had this issue for a recent review.  I could see why the lady has a lot of positives but it just didn't work for me.  I ended up giving a positive because she was professional and there is no reason for someone to avoid her.

I'll be honest that Naomi didn't really do it for me.  I've given a positive because there wasn't anything wrong with her or the punt, just that it missed the mark for me.

I suppose that I could have done exactly that, explaining that while she wasn't for me, others would probably like her as her reviews suggest.

I'll do that next time.

I had this with a massage provider, unanimous reviews saying she was the best ever. I expected something out of this world and left feeling a bit 'meh'.

Detailed that in the review, left a neutral, a few of her fans added comments but nothing saying I was wrong, just that my experience didn't mirror theirs. If I'd read my review before visiting her it may have lowered my expectations and led to a better punt  :unknown:

Actually just checked, I left a positive but detailed that whilst there was no fault with her service, it wasn't the level made out by others.

I have just such a review to write and to be honest I'm not sure I can be bothered.
The lady was a lot of positive reviews and I'm not sure my low positive would benefit anyone.

As said above, a review that is out of step may provide more useful information.

i am always honest in my reviews, at the end of the day it is your experience. i also think that neutrals/negs are arguably more important that positives so i always do those, but don't always write up my positives. your neg may be start of a downward slide for that SP, or it could just be a blip, so it's still important, and is unlikely to impact the SP hugely, no matter what the fanbois/white knights come out and say. If it leads to more negs, then she had it coming anyway.

it is really difficult when an SP has a sea of positives not to build up an expectation, but this is rarely met for me, so i have gotten much better at keeping them low. Especially around BJs/DT which is almost universally never as good for me.

Someone said green reviews set a precedent, but should not lead to expectation and i think this is a good way to put it. I try to think of green reviews as "this is what could happen, however there is a 50/50 chance that it won't for me, but it hopefully will be at least average on my personal scale"

i am extremely easy-going, an SP has to be terrible for me to give her a neg and have had more than a few comments on neutrals saying i am too forgiving :unknown:

OP, I get where you're coming from and as something of an over-thinker I'm sure all of those thoughts have crossed my mind.

Is it fair on the girl? Was I coming in with unrealistic expectations? Is the pushback from her white knights worth it? Am I being unduly harsh? Perhaps I should see her again before reviewing, in case one of us was having a bad day? Etc etc

I now try to indulge in less paralysis by analysis and just write the damn review. Very often I'll have posters chiming in saying "yeah, that matches my experience". Also don't forget that a Neutral isn't a negative - it just means that you couldn't unreservedly recommend her. Some would enjoy, some might not, the Neutral encourages members to read the review and draw their own conclusions.

Offline Mr Garmin

I'll often skim read the positive reviews, I don't require a blow by blow job account.

Negative and neutrals I'll take notice of and often study as to whether the details are important.

A girl may get a -ve for ghosting for example but unless she has a history of this I'll usually take note but it won't necessarily be a deal breaker for me.

Offline Upsndowns79

It’s a bit of a double edged sword for me. If I am seeing someone with a heavy green track record (which represents a large proportion of my bookings) I have a high level of expectation. I pay attention to the detail in the reviews so it gives me a good idea of what to expect.

As a result there have been bookings that I’ve left with an immediate slight sense of below expectations. I have found though on reflection that the booking was totally adequate and actually quite good.

Over time I’ve tried to not walk across the threshold with too high expectations.

I'm the opposite to you.
As the eternal optimist, when the  door opens I always expect to be met by a sexy lady, .........but obviously be prepared if she's not.

Having said that,   these days I'm much less fussy and have an age range of 30 - 80.

Also looks often don't necessarily equate to good service

I would rather have poor service from a stunner, than good service from a munter.

Your review, your choice how you rate it, but the most important thing in my view is to be honest. That's the whole point. If everyone gives a positive when they really felt it was a neg then an sp can end up with more false positives than real ones and the effect just multiplies. If you feel it's a neg give a neg, however many greens she has. If anyone complains you can say with total honesty, that's what your experience was and no-one can reasonably argue with that.

I try to always be honest with my reviews regardless of what may have been posted before. I can recall one girl I reviewed as negative who had a large number of highly positive reviews, and I just see this as either I may have caught her on an off day or it's just a difference of opinion to other punters on what we enjoy. I certainly wouldn't hold back from expressing an opinion that goes against what others have said, whether positive or negative.
