How is him being a teacher not relevant? If a teacher can't be trusted to be around children where does that leave us?

It's totally relevant as he will have had all the checks required to work with children, I am wondering if former pupils will now start popping out of the woodwork about other things that have happened in the past.

I have followed this case as it's in Blackpool and previously posted on the grumpy thread about it, i'm glad they have both been convicted and now lets hope the sentence is as harsh as possible when it's announced on Thursday.

Poor little kid seems to have been doomed from the start born to a mother who is clearly useless scum herself and then rightly taken into care at 5 days old, he could have actually had a good future if he'd been adopted by decent parents instead of these 2 monsters 

Reading that news article did actually bring a few tears to my eyes, bless the little lad and the only consolation is that he isn't suffering anymore

Likewise although i'd say he doesn't sound like much of an advancement on these 2 with what he's done and i'm sure he needs segregating himself too 

I'd say he may well have some mental illness that made him do what he did whereas these 2 who have just been convicted are able to make balanced choices / decisions.
Does that ironically make these 2 evil as they consciously knew what they were doing was wrong but still did it anyway whereas someone with a mental illness which means they can't control themselves properly isn't evil 

Either way they need to be locked up

I would further add my frustration that some people among the public are trying to make the argument that the Uk should ban 2 men adopting. I just heard the other day of a single mother abusing her baby (reported on the BBC). Yet her gender and sexual orientation don't seem to come into it. It has nothing to do with gender, race, religion or sexual orientation.

Evil have no gender or sexual orientation. Evil exists everywhere.
The only way we can deal with it and get rid of the evil in this world is by proper and fair justice/punishment, better judgement from the powers that be and stricter requirements for care givers and occupations that has dealings with children.


Alternatively, it does not sit right with me that birth parents can have their own children without facing internal checks to make sure they are safe to be around children whereas a teacher would have to get an enhance check then surely it would make sense if new mothers/fathers face the same checks.

These days, anyone who is likely to have contact with Children as part of their job has to have Enhanced DBS checks done, that's partly why Hotels don't allow under 18s to stay. DBS checks cost the Employer and the high turnover rate in hospitality means it's not viable for them.

These two will be on the nonce wing, but even there, they're the lowest of the low - someone on a whole life sentence has nothing to lose by giving them a good kicking - it'll take a while, but they'll get 'em in the end.

At least one of them got a whole life sentence but if he hadn't then you know there would have been calls for the sentence to be reviewed / increased

Let him take a few beatings / minor attacks for a few years living every day in fear about what's going to happen later that day before the real punishment and more serious attacks start.
When / If someone does finally get to him to finish the job off then part of me would like it to be soon but part of me also wants his torture to endure for 30 or 40 years

As for the other one who got 25 years I guess he could be out or up for parole in 12-15 years 
Perhaps let him get 10 years in before dealing with him in case he gets early release
