Lots of media coverage about Lewis Hall feeling unsettled at Newcastle. Will he be another player to jump ship from the Toon.  :unknown:

After Scotland departed the US & the manager resigned there was talk of Ange becoming the new manager
Wishful thinking on the part of Scotland fans
As if he'd wanna do this job
Its 24 hour darkness north of the icewall Nov to Feb most of the pitches are frozen during this period even the plastic ones
& the Saudis could add a zero to whatever wage packet Scotland offered him, tax free

Wants away or a pay rise ?
Not ideal when Newcastle selling star players
It will make others in the squad think what the team when the season starts / transfer window closes looks like
& more difficult to get targets to join

In the reverse Spurs are a team gathering momentum & new players
Noted they need to having just escaped the drop twice
Players more likely to want to join such a team albeit its down to wages
For players with OHs especially foreign they'll find living more attractive in & around London
Its not a slur on Newcastle [one of the best cities in the UK] it just doesn't have the draw which clubs like Chelsea The Rear Gunners & Spurs enjoy

On Tonali I don't think he really settled up here and he's on about half as much again at Spurs which will keep him happy and living in London will soften the blow for his Mrs. She is a model and owns a clothing brand so maybe she wants to get back to Milan as well. He was interviewed at the airport on the way for his medical and yet again he stated he wants to go back to Italy and he hasn't kicked a ball yet. Be interesting to see how he gets on next season, for us he was banned for the first one, played brilliantly in the second but his form dropped off last season. He had the chance to really shine when Bruno was injured, he didn't take it. For £100m (£40m profit) selling him was a no brainer.

On all the rumours about other players I prefer to wait and see what happens.

We are on the same page when it comes to the OH's
They can exert a lot of influence
Supposedly 275k a week at Spurs so just under 100k uplift
This will easily cover the cost of PJs for her to Milan & the journey time is shorter
London more up there in the fashion world not at Milan levels however not geordie where burds skimpy dresses are as short as a wide belt
The move to Spurs a compromise with his missus
I hope her clothing brand does better than "Posh Spice is a slapper she wears a big fat jewel when she's shagging David Beckham she thinks of Harry Kewell"
Or he might need the extra folding to prop her business up

The profit will be more than the 40 mill you indicate
Signed in 2023 for around £55m & assuming a 5 year contract this will be amortised to around £22m [3 yrs * £11m p.a.]
Its more like just under £80mill book profit
A no brainer indeed

TBF Tonali did take a big wage cut when he was banned

Yes he did voluntarily take a cut on his £120,000 pw wages but the club also did an awful lot for him with counselling and the like.

BTW even if it was cut by half it would still be £2.4m over the 10 months he was banned. Don't know how he could possibly manage on that.

No reason for Lewis Hall wanting to stay with Gordon, Tonali, BG, and Isaac ( last season) all leaving. Will struggle in bottom six Newcastle will this season

Strangely I haven't heard of Liverpool nicking any of their players or their potential targets this time  :unknown:

Mind you it didn't do them any good last season

Isaac is a top striker. He will settle into Liverpool and deliver to his potential this season I would imagine and with a new manager there.
How long before the Saudis pull out of Newcastle and sell. ?

......

Only if they build their side around him to give him the service and room (Bruno. 2 genuine wingers,  high press) he got at Newcastle

I reck at least a couple today
& loads over AG & Tonali leaving
I also reck he's had a tent made to look like the new Utd stadium for his garden
So he can bash one out in it imagining what its gonna be like
A shame Utd have shelved the circus tent design, after being ridiculed "roll up, roll up ..."

Been reported today from a normally reliable source that Arsenal have not made contact with Newcastle about Bruno and the rumoured £60 bid came from an intermediary.

It's also a bit unclear whether the request to leave came directly from Bruno or from his 'super agent'. Only time will tell I suppose, it's hard to tell what to believe.

£45m for a player not wanted in squad ??
plus he's looking like he may have/be a problem fitting in or I would conclude that had the two clubs not been ManU & Chelsea who have such a long list of 'Misfits' that its almost a badge of honour

Chelski always seem to be able to get very good money from their sales but I think this one might be one they struggle to manage

Another Newcastle signing has been hijacked. This is becoming a bit of a habit for them.

I'm very happy with that signing for the money. Always rated him and he will add solid experience to Mainoo and Santos

What a downfall

Its his attitude and application (or lack off) thats the problem, he thinks he's better than he actually is. His once promising career will fizzle out to nothing, he didnt even make the Argentina WC squad, allegedly due to attitude.

Great piece of business by Utd to cut him loose and cash in on him ..

With a 10% sell on clause, smart thinking
It could be that the days of Utd buying high & selling low as they have previously on numerous occasions are numbered

Think the last time they took a pasting on a player was getting shot of the woman beater Antony for €22m start of last season to Real Betis after buying him for €95m three years earlier
No PL club would touch a player with his baggage so no surprises he ends up in Spain where attitudes to women are different [Turkey would have been another option]

Offline Bhamguy

Anyway it's too early for a 26/27 footy thread, let's at least get the WC out of the way

I'm thinking Mr Bluesky will be mighty pissed off that you've jumped in so early as I think he normally starts these off

Blackpool  took
Just a quick 1 who do you follow
I'm villa but will be going to watch Blackpool  quite a bit  this season

Good business that for villa. They can buy two decent players with that money. And will sort them out financially. Massive profit

Offline Jumping Jack Flash

When Rogers is good he is unplayable but at 23 he’s very inconsistent and for every good game he will have two or three when he bang average. I expected him to leave this summer and thought he’d end up at Arsenal, signing for those entitled plastic twats from down the Kings Road is surprising though. Rogers will be on ridiculous money and a 6 year contract so good luck to him and thanks for some good memories.

Our average squad age was too high so moving Tielemans and Digne on is probably a good thing. I’m more surprised that Tielemans moved on because he was vital to how we played but we signed him on a free so the fee we have received for him is pure profit from a PSR/SCR perspective. Digne is one of the higher earners so losing him will have a positive effect on the ledgers.

I’m happy with the signings/rumoured signings so if Rogers’ fee means we sign a couple of additional quality players then I’m happy and looking forward to what the manager does with his new squad.

What is depressing is the fact that football is now as much about accountants and balance sheets as managers and tactics.

Overall in Unai we trust.

That's how they financed buying Johan Manzambi otherwise they didn't have the funds.

What he saw when he played against Villa a few weeks ago was one of the factors in him signing for them, European football being the other.

As an aside, apparently Newcastle have breached UEFA's financial sustainability regulations and have been fined €3m with a further €7m if they breach in future, no idea how.  :unknown:

Tielemans going to that team in Salford contributed a fair chunk. We have sold a few fringe players too.

All the reports were that Villa weren't sure if they had the funds so there was a delay in the transfer going through at first.

Why so much hate? Especially from a Villa fun lol
