Author Topic: "Lukiest" place for punting?  (Read 2881 times)

Offline hsl

Out of curiosity, do the mods have stats on the percent of "Positive" and "Negative" reviews for each region? I guess I'm asking which region are we mostly likely to get a decent punt? Thought it would be interesting. Ignore me if no stats exists.

East Midlands seems to be rather poor recently...

Cheers!

There are too many variables, you can’t really determine which one specific region is the luckiest.

Also East Midlands is decent imo.

It looks like the OP "lucked" out on this question ;)

Equally you could flip the question and say its how easily pleased / expectant of high standards each region's punters are?  :unknown:

Tatooine or Dagobah

Alderaan is definitely the unluckiest...all that tail up in smoke.. :D

Just perusing the reports, the West Country & South Wales seem to have a good hit rate and I'd quite like to punt in the North East.  It may however be a case of the grass looking greener.

Apropos to not much, really, one stat that did catch my eye, is that review numbers may be falling:

April 2026: 1266
April 2025:1394
April 2024: 1414
April 2023: 1621
April 2022: 1761
April 2021: 1855.

2020 was all covid, as I recall.

Whether that trend applies to other months I wouldn't know. Dunno if any conclusions may be drawn from that, I just thought it was curious.

Luckiest place to punt, I'd probably say the bedroom  :D

Having some time on my hands, I counted up the number of 'negatives' and 'neutrals' on the first page of reviews for each region. This has the 49 most recent reviews (I guess it's set to 50 but the first post is an ad for the mobile app). The best and worst regions ... drumroll please

Fewest negatives - Northern Ireland & Ireland 4
Most negatives - tied between London, East Midlands and Scotland 12 each

Full disclosure on the numbers (- means negative, = means neutral)
London -12 =3
East England -8 =5
South East -7 =6
South West -10 =4
East Midlands -12 =8
West Midlands -11 =7
Wales -6 =6
North West -5 =0
North East -7 =5
Yorkshire & the Humber -11 =8
Scotland -12 =11
Northern Ireland & Ireland -4 =5

Typically, total number of neutral/negative is 12-15 (out of 49). NI & I and NW are outliers with more content punters and Scotland, E and W Midlands and Yorkshire have the most dissatisfied.

Plot that against average cost £ per hour and you may see a correlation

Wales -6 =6

My gut feeling about Wales sems to be justified.
