Hope it is ok to ask this here but are others noticing a trend to ask you to go to convenience store or garage and buy a pre-pay card or paysafe? (Alternatives are available)

I have had this on a few occasions and not specifically ask before making arrangements as got messed around with this 4 times in a month

They all claim this is safer for both parties but I fail to see how this is of any benefit to me?

Curious to know if this is common now and if others do this?

Thank you

Have you actually met anyone and used this method of payment ?

Have you actually met anyone and used this method of payment successfully to pay for a punt?

I've not experienced this before but, if I do, I would assume it's scam and avoid.

You bring a pre-loaded card and a hard on. She says she is "going to check it" and leaves the room. Sergei drains the funds and the SP returns saying there is no money on it. You've lost your cash and your hard on. I'm sure you could kick off if you want, assuming you're prepared to take on Sergei and whatever/whoever else is in the next room.

I just wouldn’t bother 🤷🏼

It used to be Amazon Gift Certificates, but Amazon were persuaded to tighten up on their purchase.

The gift card scams where they get the person to buy high values of cards through high street stores appears to still be an issue even if the store have set a limit of £x per purchase as the store staff should be looking out for this type of purchase yet they don't stop the customer just going through another till or branch buying more.
Obviously in the case of "profiles" asking for a gift card through a store they probably arnt triggering the limit

The op actually raised the same question in this thread last month https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=451043.msg4426945#msg4426945

It is a scam
they'll ask for a photo of the card "to prove it - and you - are genuine"
they'll withdraw the money and then ghost you
don't even consider it

No, as I then refuse to go through with the meet

That is why I have asked the question here if others have

Are all of these through Friday ad ?
Take the advice above as it’s sure to be a scam.
Maybe the more prudent question if you are using Friday ad is to find out if anyone else is successfully using it in your area .
Imo i would question why a provider is advertising there these days

This might be a daft question but I've never used a prepaid card, how does the person you are presenting it to know how much is on it without a card machine?  :unknown:

A receipt from the point of purchase only shows how much you initially put on not the balance available.

The girls who usually request these cards in Cardiff are either on Skokka or Erobella.
I have not had one successful meet on Skokka, thought I was lined up last week, was in marriot hotel, but then she went dark, stopped answering texts wouldn't answer phone, so I left. About an hour later she texts to say sorry I was in the shower...FRO
I have had 2 meets off Erobella but also had 6 failures, so not going to bother with that anymore.
Once they ask for an Amazon or a Game card instead of cash now, I just block the number as You are just wasting your time.

They are fixed value gift cards like an Amazon card which can be credited online to an Amazon account. Not the same as a prepaid visa card

Friday-ad mostly, also vivastreet

Yes, not going to meet any of them, was just putting the question out there in case others had similar or to make people aware of it

I now ask bluntly whether they take cash in hand
