Any risk from OW. Barrier used but not a condom

Recently new member and first time poster. I had my first punt yesterday (review to follow). I wanted some advice on the below:

Has anyone caught an STI from OW? This was at a Chinese massage parlour, she used a barrier, but it wasn’t a condom. It looked like the sort of material like when you go to the petrol station and they have those thin, clear gloves. She only did it for 1-2 minutes as I opted for HE instead

I’m feeling a bit paranoid, so just wanted to check if anyone had any experience of risk with OW and the risks?

I haven't had the experience you relate, and never had an STI from a punt which were all using condoms for both Oral and penetration.
Obviously, there is External Link/Members Only a risk with any activity that involves someone else's body fluids, but I would say that the risk is minimal from the encounter you describe, but I am not medically qualified in any way.
If you're concerned, there will be an NHS GUM clinic in your area which can do a confidential test.

Some SPs just steal loads of those fuel gloves from service station pumps and use them instead of condoms,they are quite safe.

The risk of catching anything from OW is fairly negligible but as said before, any act involving bodily fluids has its risks, but really if you are that worried get yourself checked.

On a side note you will find any Chinese massage place will use these plastic sandwich bag things and NOT have condoms there in case they are raided as it could prove that the place was being used for sexual purposes, going forward just get some condoms for OW use and have one handy on you for when the situation arises  ….. and be prepared to take it with you after.

Passante Unique condoms have a similar feel, consistency as the fuel station gloves.

It's economical though, a skilled SP can get five uses out of a single glove...

Welcome to the forum 

You risk as described is rated zero. If you have only started punting recently you need to organise initial STI testing in order to establish your 'baseline' status as clear. This applies especially to HIV status.

There are many threads about STI' risk and testing on the forum, although some of them are misleading/inaccurate and alternative internet sources may be more valuable.

I hope you will in due course post your review and have not been put off by some of the hostility from a minority of other members

I normally get OWO and some CIM with most of the punts l do. Over 30 years never had a problem.
But to OP as most have said there is a risk you have to take with this hobby.

Thanks all for the replies. Sounds like the risk is minuscule but I will get checked out anyway. And yes, I was tested several weeks ago and all clear, haven't had sex since.

I'm sticking with massages and HE as they're almost 100% safe. Can't beat a good ol' stroke of the jacobs from behind on all 4's followed by a satisfied ending. Much better than OW anyway as can't really feel anything

If you're going to massage places and want OW then it's best to take your own condoms. Mention to the SO that you have a condom abd she'll probably be happy to use that but she will expect you to take it away from the premises to discreetly dispose of.

Just an FYI, the two main permanent STDs, Herpes and Genital Warts, can be caught when using a Condom

Every body has to accept the risks they are prepared to take, because nothing in life is without risk, all you can do is minimalise any potential risk
