There is more to this story than the guys being found just by having an aw account and im guessing they are not listed as providing a service would have limited details so will have interacted with a profile she had access to and via that interaction were identifiable be that a searchable mobile number, whatsapp profile pic, or worse they had asked for her to visit their home address. These wont be the only guys she tried this with maybe the publicity will bring others out . The crazy thing is the minimal sentence and her being released in no time, she should be deported

Like you Ruth I advise them on what not to send and share with total strangers they meet or message online, it beggers belief at times the information we get send unsolicited.

Id suggested that the examples above are possibly over sharers even if they do not admit to it.

Exactly this, akin to the old phrase formerly used to prevent insider trading; "Chinese Walls". Basically, be sure that no information from your real private life leaks into your punting life. Irrespective of your personal situation!

The moral of this story is two things.

Firstly get a punting phone and give away as little information as possible about yourself

Secondly, if you do get blackmailed go to the police. They’ll not care about your punting behaviour, but will care about blackmail which is a serious criminal offence.

With reference to the title of the thread Punting isn't now becoming dangerous for married men.

It's always been dangerous for married men.

I don't fit into that category so I ignore a lot of the above advice as I have absolutely nothing to lose.

What I'm doing isn't illegal, there's nobody to get hurt or embarrassed, I don't have an employer to answer to, I don't fish in the bottom of the pond.  So IDGAF.
