Pattaya v Bangkok?

Chaps, I am planning 7 days of punting in April! I have been to Pattaya twice, but never stayed in Bangkok!

Simple question...........purely from a punting point of view! Pattaya or Bangkok......?

Assuming you are landing in Bangkok, a couple of days there then head on down to Patts.

Bangkok is a major city of the world- it worth spending a few days there for sightseeing!

From a punting only perspective, Pattaya win hands down imo but as Dark Vader suggested, a couple of days in Bangkok followed by 4 or 5 days in patts. In
Bangkok stay in the sukhumvit road area - somewhere between Soi cowboy and Nana ( Soi 4) imo!

IMO , there is very little difference between them all! Soi cowboy in Bangkok is the smallest of the 4 ( cowboy, Nana, Walking St and Soi 6) whilst Nana is a building complex of 3 sides of a square around a courtyard and over 3 floors!
Soi 6 and walking st in Pattaya are all one level and similar - perhaps WS has a bit more Russian element to it but all four are all pretty much straight in your face and full on - and you can spend a lot of money there very quickly! But you should do all four at least once!

Other members may have a different view and point out a few subtle differences!!

Agree totally with other posters that you have to do both places. In terms of places to visit Bangkok obviously wins but you do have beach in Pattaya. Although there are cheap places to eat in Bkk, Pattaya tends to cater to a less affluent clientele (a generalisation I know) so lots of cheap places to eat and a variety of cuisines on offer. I would say that Pattaya is less expensive in terms of nightlife with many bars having drink promos and so many girls looking to earn, but beware, it is easy to spend a fortune in both places.

You can't really beat Pattaya for pure punting, convenience and prices.

It's got every type of service going in a relatively small space. Freelancers online or in clubs are pretty cheap and drinks prices and bar fines at regular beer bars are still reasonable. Happy massages are still ridiculously cheap.

I do like Nana but gogo bars are expensive and happy massages and beer bars in Bangkok are way over priced in comparison.

Thai Friendly works well in both places, just simply bonkers amounts of women, but I prefer boots on the ground these days and bouncing around Pattaya is great fun, for a week or two at least.

Really depends on what you want, time of day and budget?
The GCs open around miday or earlier in the case of Telephone bar and La poste is 13:00. Club Fate is about 17:00.  They tend to close around midnight. Have a look at gentsclubs.com they have 10 plus locations and post daily line ups on their discord group. Not the most stunning range of ladies in their bars but their catflaps location is one of the plushest GCs about. GCs are generally older milfs, 30years plus. ST short term rooms on site. Closed door establishment, so you can get some action out in the open or curtained area or ST room.  Buy her drinks and she undresses to various stages in the bar area. Soi Bongkoch is an area where you will find about 12 GCs in the space of 100metres and its expanding

Soi6 is a street just full of mainly spinners. probably 40 odd bars.  Mainly drink queens and possibly drink quotas before you can BF them. ST rooms on site. Opens at about 16:00 and goes onto midnight or 2am depending on time of year and how busy. Depends, obviously don’t think every Thai bird is a whore, as some western men think.
There is punting all over Thailand, and brothels, but most is for local men, a farang may be welcome in their bars.
If you’re in a provincial town you may find freelance women out in town, as a farang just chat her up and see how it goes, they may ask for money to take care of you, or no money requested, but give them a short time voucher after the punt.
In the villages if you wander that far, you are likely to find former bar girls who have made their money, built their house, with or without a farang sponsor, they maybe back home bored as they promised their farang they stay home and be good girl, sometimes these bored former bargirls can be a lot of fun, and will take care of you, on their sponsors expense.

It's not as good as it was and a lot of fake profiles but try this.  Pop "get a job" and the town name into google translate and then paste that into X/ Twitter. Try that first and then see what other hashtags they use and you will get the hang of it. Sometimes the town translation will be off but you'll be able to pull it from google maps. This was a goldmine 3/4 years ago but a lot of fakes now and I think X have cleaned it up a bit. I think it's all on Telegram groups mostly now. Never pay a deposit and make sure they send a few photos.  They might have a room or might come to you.  Then there is Tinder and Thai Friendly but Thai Friendly tails off quickly outside the tourist bits. 

Also, almost every decent sized town will have an area with happy massage shops, they will mostly welcome you but won't be as forward as in the tourist areas.  Then you have karaoke bars almost everywhere (look for the fairy lights at night when you're driving around Thailand, they are everywhere).  You pay to drink / sing with them and you can get their numbers etc.

Any reasonable sized town will have Thai pubs/ Nightclubs.  Again there are plenty of freelancers in those.  Some are girls out with boyfriends/ friends but you will get the hang pretty quickly of who is working or not.

It is everywhere in Thailand, unless you are talking of going to really small villages then you can find it if you want to.  If you are in Isaan even just going to 7/11 in a small town as a stranger might get you more attention than you imagined and doors can be opened but it's not as easy as the Phillipines to pick up random chicks outside of the game, you do have to put at least some effort in.

Personally I am going again this year for 5 days after a business trip and am just going to do Bangkok. Patts is great for punting and going out drinking, but I prefer the hotels in Bangkok and there is more to do. Plus on the punting side I have had better and cheaper experiences in Bangkok. Apologies for missing out he name of Heavens Above in Soi Boomerang.Girls used to charge 2000thb to go upstairs - last time it was 3,000thb plus a little fo the club. . Now it may be they are trying for more. It is my favourite. Have usually found one or two acceptable ladies in Club Fate but they are not always immediately apparent.
