I know its been covered before, but does anyone know if you download a vid form AW as M4 instead of play in windows, if it saves to your computer? Cheers.

Offline socks

if you right click mp4s as they play you do indeed get the option to save it - in my chrome based experience

You need to remove the DRM though if you want to view it again after the rental period. And you need to do it before the rental expires.

Easy enough to do.

Offline Frenchie

Just bought my first video on AW .. can you give an idiots guide to how to save them . WTF is a DRM . ????

It's free and open-source.

In the 'Sources' section, add 'Window Capture' and select the name of the program that's running.
Also consider changing the 'sub-region' to only capture the video and not the whole program (including the interface buttons like pause, etc.)

YouTube has video guides on how to use it:

Thanks for the info . Downloaded 'Screen - cast -omatic ' or SMO' for short ...have tested it with a bit of a porn video ...worked well ..easy to  use .
I will try it with the AW video ..but can't see why it wouldn't work .

Aimersoft Media Converter External Link/Members Only not free but will remove all rental restrictions once downloaded.

UPDATE ...I've got 'Internet Download Manager' on my laptop ..and have found that if I click on the PICTURE on the Aw website , -IDM automatically opens up and downloads it in superb quality !

Is this for saving pictures or videos?  Your post reads to me that you mean pictures but this is the videos thread?  I've tried what you've described for saving videos on Chrome and Firefox (without subscribing to a video) and it hasn't worked.

Offline Frenchie

Sorry ..maybe the use of the word ' picture ' threw you  :(

What I mean is that when you click on the movies page you get a page of photos( stills ) with the details of each video underneath .
I was clicking on the details  to  select the one I wanted ....don't do that-  click on the actual picture and you will get a small box appear on the bottom left of your screen 'download this video? '..just click on this small box and it will automatically open up IDM . then you can click 'Download now' or 'Download later'.....if later you just open up IDM where you will see a list ..just click 'Start que'.....be patient though .....it will connect to the source of the video - but it might take up to a minute before you get the little green smiley face  to show everything is going ok .

Once downloaded the videos ( or anything else such as text PDF files ) will appear in a 'Downloads ' folder somewhere on your computer

I have had IDM for two years . Totally free and quite easy to use ....you can make up a download list to download later -stop and start downloads whenever...IF you use this then ask me any q's you want ... Well worth getting !

Hope this helps .....

Thank you for the help, I'll give it a go.

Do you mean it downloads for free or do you have to have credits? I have internet downloader and it certainly doesn't do it with no credits on mine........

Offline Frenchie

No ......the AW download isn't free - but IDM is Free ...try it ... nothing to lose....just make sure that other boxes aren't ticked to download other programs  that always seem to be attached to these things .

Create a restore point - just in case . If you don't like it then delete the program or restore your computer back to the restore point .

Again , - hope this helps ..... :)

Tried this with IE. I got no small box in the corner, but worse still I got charged for the video but nothing played.

I tried Firefox, and when I clicked to confirm the purchase, I got a pop-up asking if I wanted to save it or watch it. I chose 'Save', and the video was downloaded to the Downloads folder. I assume IDM was involved, but it must have been in the background as there was nothing about it on-screen, except for the pop-up window.

A piece of cake.

Did you download firefox? I don't have it on my laptop.

Offline trailblazer

Google in 'Mozilla firefox' and you'll get the download link. Firefox has some features not available in IE. You can use either browser as you want, or both at the same time.

I use VLC media player, if you press the right 'play mode' you can open the stream in VLC then press convert/save (but I can never remember the right play mode to press so I have to keep trying with the free vids!

I have to retract this. The video was available for playing for a number of hours, even outside of AW. However, after about 6 hours WMP said it couldn't find the file. Looks like there is some time limit somewhere on the playlist. I'll have to investigate some more.

Sorry if anyone's wasted time on this lead.

Getting video to your hard drive is easy and as you have found keeping it is the problem. This is down to DRM (Digital Rights Management). When you first play the video in WMP it contacts AW and requests a DRM Licence, once received this then sets the 'rental' period. You can't play the video without it. It's like a key for a lock and once unlocked you have a time limit.

Strip out this DRM Licence and the video will be yours to keep. You still have to buy the video, you can't bypass that but you can remove the rental.

You have to do this during the rental period, once the DRM Licence expires you need to purchase again. AW also impose a restriction on the number of licences that you can buy for any one video.

To remove the Licence use Aimersoft Ultimate Media Converter (not free) - tell it where the licence is stored, load video and convert. That is as simple as it gets and it will now be yours to keep.

Any new way to DL AW videos. I used to use the VideoDownload extension. This now fails to pick up the videos.

Offline agcnospam

I use debut video capture software. It is a screen recorder so just press record then play the aw video (or any other video) full screen and you're done.

Offline professorlove

If you go into browser activity and look in the cache you’ll see the video file loading into there. Open it in a seperate video and you should be able to save. You can grab pretty much anything from the cache

How does one that isn’t technically savvy accomplish such a task my good man?

Offline Toddjones

Is this possible to do on mobile

If using Safari then, window>activity. find the page in the drop down. will be the biggest file
If using Firefox then, tools>page info> media. look for biggest file.

Sometimes the video is still loading so you’ll see the file load. I haven’t bought a video from AW in a while now so I forgot if it’s a onetime view only. I suggest that do not close down the window/tab the video is playing.

You can do this in Chrome too - you’ll have to be more technically minded because you defo need to know whate you’re looking at.

For Chrome, view>developer>developer tools>resources or network

Oh for sure. I’d be surprised if theres not an app out ther for it - theres an app for everything!
I would say yes for Android and yes for IOS (if it’s jail broken)

Offline professorlove

Haha! After giving that advice can you not just download from where the video is playing. I was just on the divaescort site and watched a video there and just hit download button. Was using chrome

My iPhone isn't jail broken, and I use the app Aloha to download videos. It doesn't always download copyright stuff though, eg from YouTube.

My old iPhone 4 had an App called "Free Video" but it's not supported on later iPhones running 64 bit iOS systems. "Free Video" is also no longer available in the App store either. It was a brilliant App and would record absolutely anything you wanted.

There is another way on iPhones though. Just use the screen record feature. You'll first need to enable it, if not already done so by going to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls, then click the + symbol next to Screen Recording.
Come back out to the phone's main screen, and if you want to record from an App, simply double click the home key, swipe up and press the record icon. You can chose whether you have the sound on or off by holding your finger on the record icon and selecting mic on or off.

AW won't let you save videos from all the attempts I've done. This is the only solution. On Mac just use QuickTime screen recorder. Not ideal but it works...

Offline WASA38

I've done a video screenshot using hand-held camera focussed on the PC screen. Resultant video is not perfect (a bit of banding)but certainly watchable. Obvously had to pay AW for the movie. If I do it again I will have the camera on a tripod. Hard to keep the camera steady in the cicumstances, even though I was holding it with both hands !

Does it save the audio using this method?

do you still have to pay for AW videos using any of these methods?

I just refuse to pay some of the prices on there for short clips where I can go on to xvideos, porn hub etc and get them for free?

tho it would be nice to see them or even see a video from a girl before booking her with out paying.

Offline Die_Yuppie_Scum

I've tried to check Chrome cache for video files using a free tool. I played a free 30 sec video from AW. The program only found 4 1.8kb MP4 files. It seems that AW are splitting videos into many different files making it near impossible to get the videos. The old FF trick of looking at View Page Info, Media doesn't work either.

Just bought a clip and usually use this method with tricky videos, i can confirm this doesnt work anymore, doesnt load into the cache, also like how AW doesnt bother stating when you buy that you can only watch clips for 15 minutes before you have to pay again  :(

I used to buy the occasional video when I had some credits languishing in my account. But since they've made it nigh on impossible to save them I don't bother. It must cost AW and the ladies revenue and discourage chaps from buying clips....... How many wanks do they expect me to knock out in 15 bleeding minutes!??

Just found a screen capture in Windows 10.Type in Xbox game bar, works great, real easy to operate and saves videos in MP4.

You can easily do it from within a Chrome Browser;

Ctrl+Shift+I
Select network Tab
Highlight Media
Click the Clear Button (next to the red record button) to start with a clean slate

Play Video

You'll soon spot it in the pane

Right click and save link as or open in new tab and right click to save from there.

If you can't save from the link, you can open a command prompt and copy & paste link as a cUrl command or on Linux as Bash
