This is terrible terrible science and incorrect.

Transmission can theoretically occur at any point no matter how brief (or not at all), but obviously longer exposure increases the risk. You did the correct thing, eventually.

Also in relation to waiting twelve weeks, do not. You should get tested at 1-2 weeks and if any ongoing concerns or symptoms, retest at 6-12 weeks. Personally if I was in a similar scenario I would have considered immediate post exposure prophylaxis but the maximum window for this is 72 hours.

This is my area of work so offering what is hopefully helpful general advice.
