There are quite a few for me, that I remember.

The three news stories of the year that I remember rather well:

California fires : If my memory serves me well, This happened right at the start of the year. But some how this news event stays in my memory as a stand out news event of the year.
Which is rather surprising as I am not American.

Online safety bill came into force : I think it was June or July of this year when it came into force. Even this site had to implement age verification measures.
This new bill also had a impact on all sex workers. Individual sex workers as well as escorting websites all had to make changes.

England Woman's Football Team won the European Championships : England Lionesses won the Euros, making them back-to-back champions. They also won the euros the time before this in 2022 at Wembley Stadium.

What moments in 2025 do you remember the most?

All of the above. I enjoyed that our women did so well in football and rugby, winning very big tournaments.

Great year for Rory Mcilroy too, winning the Masters (becoming only the 6th man in history to achieve a career grand slam), the TPC, the race to Dubai, nearly all his matches at the Ryder cup (losing only once) and then to cap off a great year he became the first golfer since Nick Faldo in 1989 to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Jan 2025, red weather warning issued for west coast of Scotland, for hurricane force type of winds.  The advice from the police, do not travel as it wont be safe to do so, and you may put other lives in danger

And still no decent accident report!..

These things take a lot of time as the investigation has to be very thorough.
