Medellin vs Pattaya

So I went to Pattaya late October and had a blast. I'm thinking ahead to Oct 2026 and torn between medellin and Pattaya. I haven't been medellin. My mate just got back and keeps raving about the place. He wants to head back next October. There will be a nice group of maybe 8 lads. If I were to return to Pattaya it will just be 3 or 4 of us as we're all married and most of the other wives aren't as trusting. Which destination would you suggest for a 8 day stay?

Medellin fun but you need to keep your wits about you. You could combine it with Cartagena for the beach. But if you are looking for debauchery and easy access to women there is only 1 alpha and omega (yes I have been to both).

so have i - and i agree with Jeffers! (some people may say but the woman  are better looking in Medelin. Matter of opinion of courese but it is def easier and much more relaxed in Patts.

Never been to Medellin but conversations with mates down the pub , would indicate that Pattaya would win out every time. Hotels, prices, food etc. However, be warned, it can become a cage with gold bars. Get out and about for day trips too.

Loads to do in Pattaya too. Really enjoyed my days out at Koh Larn and night-time tour of Sanctuary of Truth 👍

Thanks gents. Really helpful. I always felt safe in Pattaya walking home from Walking Street back to Areca Lodge at 5am.i
 I think I'd be more wary in Medellin but my boys are dead keen on going Colombia. They'd never get a pass for Thailand 😔

Do you play golf? Excellent courses in Thailand.
I'm reminded of a group of chaps I met in bkk. ( White guys).They went out every night doing what they wanted. ( If you catch my drift).However, in the day , they slept by the pool with their golf gloves on. One hand tanned and the other pale. Obviously the partners back home assumed they had been playing golf due to non-tan. Genius. 
Out on the golf course everyday and an early night.

I have been to both, Pattaya would get my vote simply for ease, Medellin is fantastic though and if you like Latin women its heaven. I would only go there if you want more than punting, Thailand is still the no.1 destination.
