Brussels Nord (Red Light District)
Just got back from a 2-week break across the Lowlands. Thought about doing one big post, but it would be a long read, and also a lot of the information might not be found for others looking for certain locations.
I had never visited the RLD in Brussels before, although I had passed it a dozen times on trains over the years. This is a City I’ve never really felt comfortable walking around in, general, never mind an RLD area, but curiosity got the better of me this time. I was only passing through Brussels so I put my bags in the station locker at Midi/Suid and headed one stop on the train to Brussels Nord.
If you take the right exit at the station, it won’t take you long to find where the windows are, although you will also be immediately hit with decaying buildings, filthy streets full of rubbish, and an overwhelming number of nefarious Men just hanging around in the street. Some in groups, some solo.
I should also add that this was at about 1pm on a Tuesday, so I couldn’t imagine doing a tour of the RLD at nighttime, maybe that is for the hardcore punters, but not me! I found a map of the RLD in Brussels on another forum. This was posted in 2021, and I don’t know how dated this map is, but in this area it coverrs there were not this many Red Light windows as it shows. I would say only about 50% exist now and on my visit, only about 25% had a WG in them. This area the map covers had only Black/African Women, but they all looked the same age (late 30s), same size (BBWs), so no punts experienced here.
Aarschotstraat is the street where the exit/entrances to Brussels Nord Station are and also has a strip of windows that is not featured on the RLD map for some reason but in my experience, this street was the best part. To get a better idea of the exact location of windows they start from Dream Bar is (by Brussels Nord Station entrance/exit), and there are windows all the way up to Cafe Retro.
Walking this strip will make you wonder if there has been a nuclear disaster, a World War or maybe even a Zombie Apocalypse that somehow you had slept through or just didn’t hear about it, whilst also being distracted by some extremely hot WG’s - maybe some of the sexiest window girls I’ve seen from Amsterdam to Hamburg to Antwerp and beyond. There were about 5 stunners in total, a few mids and a few munters for some diversity. Ethnicities mainly looked Romanian/Hungarian, Moldovan/Russian, and South American/Hispanic mixed.
Once I got to Cafe Retro and did the punting U-turn for a second look, I did consider visiting one of the stunners but this area is the dirtiest and deprived Red Light District area I have ever visited, and seeing anyone attractive looking amongst this chaos was a surreal experience in itself never mind going to punt. In this moment, walking the Brussels RLD, I felt like more of a need to take a shower than to pound away on a disinterested hottie for 100 euros.

My mind was made up for me as I was approaching the last set of windows near the train station and an American tourist was being hassled by two fellas begging him for money, which he would not give them. A melee ensued, and large groups were now surrounding from all directions including Police so I took a quick turn right and onto the next train out of there.
Would I recommend a visit to the Brussels RLD? Only if you are an adrenaline junkie or Chuck Norris.
