Slightly hijacking this thread, but:

When I need to, I use Proton free VPN and it works well.  The other day, however, the free server it connected to was in the USA.

On clicking on to my chosen 'adult' site, a pop up appeared, with a lengthy message about the Texas State legislature requiring age verification.

The commentary was quite strongly worded against the imposition of the requirement
.
Interestingly, the next time it selected the USA as the server site, it didn't throw up that message, so the server ( presumably) wasn't in Texas this time.

I use that and sometimes I get the USA others times Japan even Romania, I just hit the 'change server' until it lands on Netherlands and everything works fine.

I use the Albania servers in NordVPN as that way I get no adverts on YouTube videos.

With NordVPN make sure you navigate to settings and set the protocol to OpenVPN(TCP) else you'll keep wondering why it never works.

Is there a data limit on that? I ask as I use Windscribe and get 10gb a month but can choose from a limited list of countries.

I use TOR browser/DuckDuckGo search engine for mine, totally free to use.

Rarely any issues (occasional lag here and there when using it out and about on my mobile phone).

However, never had any issues at home on the desktop, super fast etc.

And yeah, for some odd reason, I've always found Netherlands to be one of the most effective servers.
