Old School Thais - and the Thais that Bind

My Tepid List on AW (I no longer have a Hot List) is almost entirely occupied by girls I shall probably never visit. I add profiles pretty randomly, sometimes as the result of good reviews on UKP. 

I've never seen a Thai girl, but they seem generally to be regarded with favour, and there are several on my Tepid List.

This morning I noticed that five Thai girls appear on my list in sequence.  This means that the profiles were updated at around the same time – and therefore presumably by the same pimp / manager / co-ordinator.

So it would appear that a lot of Thais come under the same umbrella.  My sample of five must be five out of dozens.  There's clearly a centralised operation.  And the dividing line between admin and pimping is pretty narrow.  Thais that bind, you might say.

Two of the girls in my sample are currently still in Portsmouth.  Three have moved on.

There  are several big groups of managed Thai girls. I have chatted to a couple of them about it.
It’s not trafficking… the girls know they are coming to uk to do this work however they are heavily managed. Their inbound flight, where they go each week, the flats,  all coms handling, their aw page etc. I think most of them come for 6 months to make enough to go home and do something else, or to learn enough to return to uk and manage themselves.

I’ve spoken to a few of the Thai Tourers as well and as explained there are a few large networks who provide “management” of the girls. From the conversations I’ve had this can be arranging accommodation, travel, doing communication and bookings, managing AW & VS pages or as little as just booking accommodation and managing the adverts.

All the girls I’ve spoken to are free to decide when are where they work. If they don’t like a city or a certain apartment they can choose not to work there. They can also take days or weeks off or just limit themselves to 3 or 4 customers per day.

I guess it depends on their motivation, if they borrowed money to get here etc. I know of a couple that have used funds to buy and pay off property back home to set themselves up whereas others maybe paying for children’s education or a family members medical fees.

They have a very different ethos and culture to us and the role of a daughter or sometimes wife is very different in their family.

I certainly never got the sense that in the Thai tourer world that girls had been trafficked or working against their will but the more services that are provided the more they have to pay. It’s why they tend to have a long “extras” list as this normally goes 100% to the girl in the room whereas the maid will take a cut of the agreed rate if they are managing bookings and comms.

That’s how it’s been explained to me anyway.

I got to know one very well outside her work. She had applied for asylum to get more time here for sex work. She’s been here for almost two years on that asylum claim. She has bought property back home and provides for her parents. She sends £1000-2000 a month to them in Isan. Although she’s effectively homeless here. There is a Thai female massage shop owner who could be considered her “manager”. She lives with her when not working as do multiple other Thai escorts. I suspect they all pay her a percentage for help, setting up ads, finding work locations and connections etc. This girl is certainly free to take time off whenever she wants and chooses her own work location, depending on what is available on a weekly or fortnightly basis. There is apparently a network of apartments whose owners rent them out to working girls for around £500 per person a week. Good money if you’re willing to risk it.
