My last 2 punts (a long time ago) have resulted in me not maintaining enough an erection to actually cum. Now I know this is a mental thing, as I get morning wood, and am in pretty good health. 40s, Active, not overweight, I drink in moderation etc etc

I havent had sex with anyone for a number of years (Though many a failed date via the dating apps. I swear civvy women can smell when a guy hasnt been laid recently! )  So, thanks to an unexpected work bonus, I'm hoping to rectify that in the next couple weeks.

But the net result is that, although I dont want to, I'm going to inevitably put a bit of pressure on myself to perform. As a result I'm looking at a 90min booking, with a GFE agency girl to reduce the time element/rush playing on my mind. (Ive used parlours a few times over the years and I cant gel with the conveyor belt mentality.)

So would I be better abstaining from any wanking/visual stimulation for a few weeks and going "au naturale", or should I get some viagra/cialis to increase the probabilty of success? Flip side to that is of course if I take the viagra and it works, will it become a crutch that I "HAVE" to use for all bookings going forward

As an aside. Last year I bought some Cialis from Superdrug. That was a hard work conversation at the pharmacy as the guy seemed actively trying to avoid selling them to me!  :unknown: But I havent actually used/tested them and they expired. So if people think that Viagra connect or Cialis is better I'm open to suggestions

No offence but I dont think you should really need viagara etc in your 40s.

I read your post and immediately thought about a YouTube video I only saw a couple of days ago. Its a long watch, but is packed full of good advice and info. Its mainly concerning nutrition. It starts off talking about masturbation, but is just as relevant for having sex.

I dont know if this is something that you consider in your every day life, but maybe it could be the thing which makes the difference for you.

A week of abstinence and good eating and BOOM! ...Hope it works for you.

This comes up on a regular basis. The last almost identical question was less than a week ago.
The simple fact is we're not medically qualified You should be asking your GP, not us.

However if you're having problems at your age possible causes could be:
diabetes
blood pressure issues (high or low)
underperforming thyroid
low testosterone
kidney problems
too much alcohol
smoking
drug abuse
eating too much and getting fat
lack of exercise
head problems

see your GP, get a medical assessment.

Very sound advice - much better than asking 1,000 strangers on here  :timeout:

See your GP by all means, but the user experences of hundreds of people in the same situation is not to be dismissed outright.

I tend to disagree.
A lot of different advice from a lot of different people might somehow muddy the waters.

Now I’m absolutely positive one or two folk on here have had a spot or two in their time.
I had one on my back. Only a little while ago.
Now I was thinking of posting a picture of the little blighter on here and asking you lot if you knew what it was, ever had one that looked similar or even if you knew somebody that might have had one.

Then I thought to myself……. ‘No’

Why not ask that nice friendly doctor at that surgery I sometimes visit. 🤷🏼

What can cure one person can kill another. Even something as simple as Penicillin can't be given to everybody, which is why medical professionals should always be the first port of call.

I had blood tests for 7 different things before I was prescribed Sildenafil, just think how much the NHS would have saved if I'd just asked on here.

Thanks everyone for their thoughts.

I did search, but couldn't find anything.

head problems

Its that. Its "performance anxiety"

Its something Ive suffered from the majority of the last 20ish years.

So it was really a question if whether a ED pill would be work for that.

My theory was that a blue pull would reduce performance anxiety. Ironically leading to a more relaxed booking and more chance of success.

Well indeed, i have an antibotic allergy tho that has to be prescribed by a doctor, and they cocked that up years ago was lucky to get away from the effects and live!!

But your instance on Sildenafil, how come i can walk into Tesco or Aldi and fill out a simple form and get that very drug with no other test involved?.

Its still usefull to read comments of what other users have expenced with this class of treatment. Alfter all you won't get that many discussing one type of Anthbotic over another!

Sildenafil won't fix that, at least not on its own.
GP might diagnose a need for therapy, or possibly beta-blockers or antidepressants.
All the more reason to get medical help.

If I was honest when filling the questionnaire in either in person or online they will not supply me with sildenafil yet my doctor has prescribed it, but only after looking at my medical history and doing tests.

I'll stick by my opinion that anyone asking for first line advice on medical matter on a punting forum is at best a fool, how can anyone on here know what medication is best for the OP.   :unknown:

It's a different thing all together asking about side effects or anything else once a medical professional has advised which treatment is best for the individual. Giving tips on how to cope with any side effects or how to avoid them that others who take the same medication have can be very useful.

This answer is not intended as a replacement for medical advice, but.......
I find brusque WGs cause performance anxiety for me. I worry about getting hard, and if I worry while getting hard the next thing that happens is I come too quickly. Since virtually all of my punts these days are first visits I use a half a Viagra tablet which guarantees getting hard, which also prevents part 2 of the above scenario. It's all in my head but it works.
If I had a reg I wouldn't use it.

Just a thought: have you tried the oriental massage shops?  For far less cash than the agencies you'll get a relaxing lead-up to the inevitable question which, if you're still not feeling it, you can decline and walk out after the hour's pleasure for around £50.  Or, you can go with all offered, in many cases up to and including FS, still at a saving.

Online joshwinkers

As many have said, your first port of call should always be a medical professional, and I sometimes have trouble on this front because I'm on anti-depressants, which hilariously have the side effect of limiting how often I can have sex. I've tried the ones which don't have that side effect too, but they didn't work as well on the depression front.

But if you've seen a GP and there's no medical issues, the following post is good advice...

Earlier this year I had a couple of punts in a row which were pretty dreadful, and then a third where I couldn't even cum despite the provider in question being really great and doing her best. For me I was just struggling with the mindset that the women in question wouldn't really want to have sex with me, and only do so for large sums of money, because... well, that's the truth. No avoiding that unfortunately.

What did help is seeking out that incredibly rare example of a service provider who can make you forget that you're paying for it, they're such a great actress that they make you feel like all they wants to do is have sex with you, and as much as possible.

I've probably only met about ten escorts who fall in to this category (not that I haven't had some awesome punts with others, Kitty of HoD from back around 2010 was astonishingly beautiful and basically described herself as "your sexual genie, and you can have as many wishes as you can fit in to thirty minutes!" but I never forgot that it was a paid encounter) but if you can find one that fits the bill to your personal preferences it's worth paying a little more to get you back on the horse, as it were.
