I was recently reminded that I could do a review of somewhere I’d previously reviewed as the elapsed time was sufficient.
This salon has become my favourite place for various reasons:
The staff are all courteous and do an excellent massage.
The salon is clean! One would think this is a given but I assure you it’s not. I have walked in and then out of places because of the stench associated with hygiene.
There is reasonable parking around the location; some on street, some paid car parks. I favour the larger car park on Staveleigh (extension of Old Street,) which is visible from Lucy#s Chinese Massage
There market hall has some good grocery shops; bread, fruit & veg, butcher, egg shop, deli etc.
Some reasonable eateries around the area.
My most recent visit to Thansai was for a 4 hand massage. The therapists were Nancy and June, both of whom can be seen on Facebook.
I started with a shower before hand. The shower/WC room is spacious enough and the shower, although electric, is more than adequate. One of the provided soaps is a liquid called something like “Zingy Mint” which seems to me to be a gentler version of the tiger balm. Interesting sensation when you wash your bits!
The massage itself was great. Deep tissue with stretching and both of them walking on me simultaneously, managing to produce a few appreciative cracks from my back.
Particular attention was made to a couple of problem areas (the ladies are aware of my historic injuries) and with the 90 minutes, I have a thorough head and neck massage.
The result is I sleep the sleep of the dead that night.
I never ask nor am I offered any extras other than tea and biscuits!
For the 90 minutes it was £120, paid by card and a non-solicited tip to each lady.
My next visit will have 1 hour free with their loyalty card.
