Re punting I rarely saw anyone more than once, so it is difficult for me to answer accurately on any scale about my personal experience with SPs.
I think most remembered me but I do recall one who I saw twice within six weeks (not intentionally)
She said "
I don't think we have met before have we?" I informed her that we had once before and fairly recently. She apologised that she could not remember me. I did feel a little disappointed
10 minutes in and my head moved to between her thighs.
"
now I remember you" she said. My pride was restored

I would emphasise again the huge difference in facial recognition capability. Mine has been very high.. or more accurately was, as I still know I have seen the face before, but sadly struggle these days to know where it was and put a name to it

There have been many occasions when I have bumped into patients when in public and said 'hello'. These are mostly people who I have seen many times over long periods.
This was mostly reciprocated, but a surprising number just looked blankly at me. Some would politely say hello also, but you could tell they had no idea who I was. Some it took a short while for them to work it out.
Interestingly some apologised saying that they didn't recognise me 'outside of work' which confirms many can only remember a face if it is associated with a particular environment
I remember one such extreme example where a lady I had seen as a patient in the morning I saw at lunchtime in a shop and she hadn't a clue who I was.
