P.S - I would love some advice from more seasoned massage seekers. What would you do in this situation?

I don’t think I walked in there with sucker on my forehead but clearly this girl felt like she could take advantage and I guess she was right in the end. Do you just walk away and accept you go nutless? Do you say at the end you didn’t do as agreed and give less? If you do give less, do you just give it and walk out fast as you can? What would you suggest I do in future to handle these negotiations better.

For reference this is the first time I’ve ever had this issue but would love to never have it again. Any and all opinions appreciated!

 Never throw more money after bad money. If you see the red flags early 🚩 just stop, take the hit and loss. She was quoting you silly money from the start and trying her luck. I think you’re right - as soon as you’re not willing to walk away it’s game over for negotiation. I should have been willing to accept it as just a good massage without more and be ready to move on once the stupid numbers were being bandied around for extras. And realistically she probably would have come down to the correct amounts had I indicated a preparedness to leave over her attempt to fleece me.

I think in that situation you have to be ready to just have the massage and no extras. I've done this before and when they start with a ridiculous price just say no and say just the massage. Either they come down to a sensible price or you walk away with a teasing massage for the entry price. Another tip, only take the cash you are willing to spend. If they see you have a wad of notes they will try and relieve you of it. Stick to say £60 or £80 and just say thats all I have on me. They will either back down or again saves you spending silly money.
