Author Topic: Two girl brothel discussion  (Read 1761 times)

Was reading an article from the past where smiths had made a comment:

Only has to be 1 WG working from the premises BUT at some other time another WG works from the same premises to also make it a brothel. So brothels that have 1 different WG every day are still brothels.

The only legal way to work is solely alone at all times.

I am certain there have been no changes to the law but I understand that while technically illegal, two girls working together for safety reasons only, is still a brothel yet the police look kinder on this kind of setup.

Is there some unwritten understanding with this or should punters be wary as with any other proper brothel. Or is it safe to assume such places are …….safe?

My understanding is that it's not illegal for you to see an SP at a brothel.

It is illegal to operate a brothel.

Agreed.

It’s more along the lines of plod knocking at the door and looking me up and down, even if he cannot actually nick me for it.

All explained here - External Link/Members Only - including public interest considerations.

There's a lot of misconceptions about what is or isn't legal so if anyone is uncertain of the legalities of prostitution the guide is well worth reading in full.

Interesting that it says there is no statutory definition of a brothel.

It varies from Force to Force, but  usually the Police have quite enough to deal with as it is. Obviously, if someone makes a complaint or allegation, they have to be seen to be doing something. You've only got to look at places like Milton Keynes where several brothels operate in a fairly open way, although the Police do go round every so often to check the girls aren't coerced or trafficked.
