I have been punting for about 6 years on and off and have had my fair share of bait and switch punts, good punts and meh punts

Apart from the obvious i.e. staying away from VS what are your punting pointers?

how do you know:
if a profile is legit?
is she a he?
is she any good?

Just good research and you are in the right place for that. Id nothing comes back here, AW feedback can be taken with a pinch of salt, so it’s just the reality that you’re TOFTT

If a profile is legit?

I would generally steer clear of profiles on AW that are part of one of those "clubs", vivastreet in general, and/or have low feedback and minimal detail on the posts and gallery.  Image search is also your friend.

Is she a he?

I've never really considered this as i can't recall ever having any doubts but given that as a species we are, in many ways, wired to detect certain things unconsciously and detect the uncanny without necessarily being able to articulate the uncanny, then I would probably say that if you have any doubt then maybe it's best to err on the side of caution and see a different SP.

Is she any good?

generally i would cross-reference AW reviews/profile with this website and take what is on AW with a pinch of salt.


lastly, if i were looking to answer all of these questions i would probably use the search function on UKP also.  there is plenty of advice already on this forum that answers this topic in much more detail than above. for example; searching "how to spot" just now has provided  lots of results on this topic.

This is my surefire way to find out if she is a he. I run a pre-punt interview based on my carefully designed questionnaire. Never fails.

My punting pointers are as follows:

1. No face pics - fuck off. Blurred, fuck off.
2. No feed back - cheers.
3. Weird profile writing, obsessive emoticons - cheers.
4. Odd messages like "ok babe- when xoxox- sure - xoxo" - that is her pimp.
5. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. We buyers, in a sellers market, accept this.

I think this is most peoples' experience.

You can do some things to reduce the proportion of meh and bait and switch . Cheltclient and Forkescort gave some good advice and its been covered in other threads.

But I don't think you can eliminate it altogether

Its an inherent risk and you just have to accept it will happen to everyone sometimes.

I'd say my big learning is always go in prepared to walk out if you don't feel it's right.

As the others have replied.
Check and cross reference with other reports.
I don't really see anyone unless they have had a good review.
If they look to good to be true...they usually are.
If you are going on AW also check how long they have been on there.
