So he's right and around 200,000 people there are wrong, my arse!.....

She is better than I thought. I have heard of her but never listened to her music. I expected some Ariana Grande knock off.

I love the Faces and some of Rod’s solo stuff but tonight was bang average. He can still rock an audience but no it was the most disappointing performance and the worst legends spot for many years.

Time for him to retire perhaps.  :unknown:

Now she is singing the Cure. Her hotness has gone up another notch.

There was a small version of the one in Israel here called simply Remember October 7th  -
Spare a thought for all the young people who never returned home from a music festival
Why carry on with the discussion after this.  :unknown:   -

Why do people insist on turning threads that have nothing to do with politics into political discussions when the rules clearly state political posts are only allowed in the dedicated political thread.

Just a reminder, political posts come with a ban.

The Prodigy without Keith Flint is just not right. Should have called it a day.

Hello from onsite. Did John Fogerty's set get televised - that was bloody amazing - he's got a stack of great tunes and a hot band to play them.

Neil Young was bang on the money too.

Good on him for doing his show. He packed a lot into 1.5 hrs and was entertaining especially as he's only just recovered from the flu. There's not many 80 yr olds fit enough to be up on stage like that in the heat.

Coventry do an annual music festival every year called The Godiva festival. Starts next week over three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It used to be free but now they council charge for it. I have seen The Stranglers, Cast and The Lighning Seeds in the past. Not a very good line up this year apart from Ocean Colour Scene who are the headline act this time.
Free was never sustainable - dirt cheap though - around £40 for 3 days on early bird tickets I think.

You are right some great acts back in the past. Echo and the Bunnymen.

Some less so - Liam Gallagher  ;)

She is brilliant and channeling some serious female energy in that music.

And gorgeous too.

Rhian Teasdale would get it, on the chaise lounge, any day of the week!
Not sure about this muscle bound version looking more like a fitter and leaner Sarah Connor these days. Nothing wrong with it of course , just doesn't float my sexual boat.

Musically though they are great. Best thing to come out of the IOW since garlic, tomatoes and The Cockfields.

I watched 'The 1975' on the telly for a while last night.  Self-opinionated prick of a vocalist who staggered unrealistically around the stage holding a pint of beer and chain smoking, pretending to be some sort of rebellious, drunken wild child whilst all the time singing clearly and in pitch and playing to all the tv cameras.  The audience lapped it up, which encouraged him even more.  The real 1970's rockers genuinely were drunk and/or stoned during some live performances and if they made too much of a mess of it they got booed and sometimes even bottled off the stage.  Them were the days!
Its a performative thing - don't take it seriously. He plays on his song lyrics being daft /made up and being Taylor Swift's ex.

After watching Rods and the MILFS, barely blare out the words  , came back to see a hottie jiggling her arse.  Like who the fuck is that!?   Didn't know she looked like that.  HUGE fan now.

I do like Ariana in 7 Rings.  She looks very unhealthy at present

Pity all over now for another year and won't be back till 2027:(

Shall miss it albeit being these days a Radio 3 fan:-)

Great part of the UK that area, was some years ago three quarters of the way up the Mendip TV mast amazing view over to the olde Tor:-)

A bit like The Jam without Paul Weller or Slade without Noddy Holder.

Olivia Rodrigo. Wow. What a babe.

Really good set too. 10 times better than Charlie XCX

The Independent stuck the knife in

I caught one clip and it was awful, the backing singer's vocal was turned up high but I could just about make out his out of tune croaky voice. He should call it a day.

Sorry, Davie
I didn't think. I was at Glasto, composing on a tablet. I apologize unreservedly. I see now in the cold light of day (actually 29C) at Wimbledon it was political.

Hey, first breaking the no politics rule, now trying to make us jealous by (not-so) casually dropping in to the conversation that you're at Wimbledon! Yellow card for you my friend!

Personally I'd much rather watch it on my TV at home in the hot tub with cold champagne and strawberries, cream, ice-cream, but my new GF wanted to go and I did promise.

Rod Stewart is #1 bestseller in their CD category so it's working for him and there's a lot of other bands from Glastonbury doing well in the bestsellers

Stupid jurno either too young to understand that someone who's been around a long time and is 80 years sold did attract a large audience and yes sometimes the audio may not hae been as good as it might be but thats down to those on the mixing desks, and the sometimes varibles of Radio microphones and theres a lot of them at events like this. Most guitarists are using the one that replaces the cable and most all on stage were receiving whats called "Foldback" so they can hear the other performers properly in an earpiece.

It gives them a lot of room, to prance around the stage and bits off the main stage etc...
