When using Adultwork, do you go straight to 'available today'?

I ask because I recently saw a touring Thai girl who'd only been in the country a fortnight; she told me she hadn't been busy, in fact the previous day she hadn't had a single customer. I'd noticed her 'available today' light wasn't on, while within a couple of miles were at least half a dozen Thai girls whose lights were on, which can't have helped.

I messaged her 'manager', who said thanks for letting me know, but her light still remained off for the rest of the week.

What would be the point of that, do you think, and how much difference might it make?

Good question.
I suppose a lot of punters might  check to see the green lights simply because they were looking fur a punt that day. Ignoring those profiles without the green.

But I think we all know there are a lot of SP’s who don’t pay the extra to AW for having the green showing.

my process

- log in
- check hotlist for any green lights
- message one of them if it suits
- use a saved search with who is available today if no one on hotlist
- attempt to set up a punt if all seems ok
- keep powder dry if no one takes my fancy

I hardly ever do same day meets so for me it isn't really a pre-req to use it. I do filter on time since active though and filter out those who have not been active for 2 weeks or more when I am doing research

I don’t use that feature much tbh.

My routine is to search x miles by postcode and ordered by last updated date. If a girl I like the look of is the right price point and has her number showing I’ll search here using her AW ref for any reviews. I’ve dodged a few bullets that way!

A lot (most?) of girls won't / can't afford the double cost of having the green light on AND displaying the phone number.
It would make more sense for you to ignore the green light and instead concentrate on those showing the number

I suppose tourers need to show the green because they are not going to be in that area for very long. Therefore need to advertise availability.
Like Jamie I’m not much of a one for needing to punt on the spur. So it’s more a planned event for me.

I have proximity searches setup and use those for the different areas I see SPs in. The searches show all SPs in an area available and unavailable as some SPs don't want to pay extra for turning their green Available light on.

While considering this question you need to remember that ukp members are a relatively small percentage of the punting community, a lot of guys punt on the day and use the GL to search for escorts, that's how all your negativity reviewed escorts stay in business.

I personally use the GL if I have a dedicated work day from home, if I am on tour and in a new location.

I work on the theory it's only a few credits a day and if it brings me 1 booking it was worth it.

I will add that when you use it in a new area you do have to wade through a large volume of timewasters but that's the nature of the job a lot of the time.

I just log on search for who’s available today within 30 mile radius and set it to Proximity so the nearest ones are first on the list.

Then I just pick my way through them.

Agree with the number showing is a better indicator of availability. Green light is just confirmation but no guarantee they will answer the phone, probably less likely to do so.

I ignore the greenlight, I just shoot my message to all the WGs I fancy & wait for responses. Some will be available, some not.

If all fails, I message my regulars, they usually make time for me if they can, as they work regular jobs too.

- message one of them if logged in that day and number is showing
- use a saved search to look for profiles with number showing if no one on hotlist
- attempt to set up a punt if someone catches my eye

If she responds then a follow up phone call to arrange the appt.

To do a search of girls showing numbers don`t you have to pay a subscription though?

This is an interesting read from a punters point of view. As a full time escort I always leave my number up for the purpose of same day and advanced bookings. Saying that I turn the GL on usually a couple of hours before I'm actually available, where I do sometimes receive the "are you available right now" texts (even at 6am), most people do read my availability tab in order to see the times I'm available from. I do see a big difference in enquiries when I do have my light on, so for me it's definitely worth the price you pay to use it.

Yes, but it's simple enough to manually filter those not showing a number

Is anyone else pissed off when scrolling through an area search , you see a profile that catches your eye and click on it to view . On returning to the search AW have shuffled the pack so if you are not arsed to troll through the page being searched it is quite easy to miss a profile .

The difference i noticed when I used it 10+ years ago available today mostly attracted enquiries from punters who hadn't read my profile simply searched by county. Some parts of the county are two hours drive apart, and more often than not my location, fees or services didn't work for them. So AT didn't particularly work for me, and I had enough bookings on other days.

However in an easier area and for other SPs working in different ways (for example if they don't take or receive advance bookings/prefer to work/can work short notice or set hours), I understand how it can be worthwhile using AT.

I've got into the habit of logging, in and going to a 'saved search, which is 15m from postcode. I routinely check the girls for reviews on here. Those with multiple negatives just get dumped straight into the blocklist. For girls I have visited and thought were crap also get black listed. Girls i have seen and like get added to hotlist and notes added. Girls recommended on here also get added to the hotlist, even if I cant get to see them that day. It is amazing just how much that whittles down the number of girls showing.

That's what puzzled me, Steve. Where I am there are often Thai profiles 'parked', even when the girl has long gone, all the more reason to advertise as available, I'd have thought, especially for a new girl competing with as many as 10 other Thais within half an hour away.

The touring Thai circuit is so well developed I suppose their 'managers' must know what they're doing, but it doesn't always seem that way.

I search on my hotlist for available today in the first instance. But I also then click on view - this displays all adverts in the order they were most recently updated, which generally gives a good impression as to who may be up for business that isn't 'showing green'
