Had aweful experiance last week in Derby city center, booked a girl on vivastreet via txt (yeah never a good idea but she looked ok, eastern euro).
Headed to the location, all looking good, guided into the apartments by the girl who was asking me to walk up and down in weird paths, clearly so she could identify me from her window and check me out. Finally given directions and code to get into the apartments.
Outside I had seen police vans on a side street which made me nervous, then inside I saw some police down one of the corridors talking to a guy with a southern accent about accusations of harrassing and intimidating behaviour (I slowed down after passing the corridor to listen in for a few seconds). I had been about to walk but thought as it was a big building, they were several floors away, and were talking about harrassment it was probably ok.
Big mistake.
Headed to the room, girl let me in, photos matched and she seemed nice if a little coarse. Literally seconds later there was banging on the door, we dived into different rooms. Police came running through the door a few seconds later, they obviously had copies of the keys, and I'm pretty sure the southern guy was the building owner.
Girl got grabbed by police and threatened with arrest for immigration offences and making threats (not sure what happened to her). Police eventually fully searched the place, but not my room - they must have twigged that I was in the room as a minute or so later police dived in and I got a taser pointed at me.
Threatened with arrest for pimping or dealing. Could be taken to the station and drug searched. Apparently my cheap phone, handwritten notes in my wallet with peoples contact details, lots of train tickets, and the amount of cash in my wallet was highly suspcious. To avoid arrest I had to give them my id, wallet, and let them on my phone and email. In hindsight I wasn't doing anything wrong, and they didn't accuse me of even paying for the girl, they seemed to suspect me of involvement with organised crime groups from Peterbourgh. They searched my details on police national computer, then were looking up numbers saved on my phone and that I had called. They also looked through my last few days of emails and searched my wallet, before taking a lot of interest in the train tickets and checking dates on them.
Eventually after a discussion with HQ they said I was free to go, but not before giving me a lecture about abusive behaviour in the industry and links to organised crime. Said that they would keep my details as I "might be able to help them with further enquieries".
Not sure I want to go punting in Derby again, in hindsight I think I narrowly avoided a similar incident a while back - passed a suspicious character in a corridor who was probably fitted with a hidden camera (something off about his jacket), he blocked the corridor and asked me if I lived in the building. I said I had just visited a friend and he let me past with a very suspicious look. Almost certainly an undercover cop.
Never had any trouble like this in other areas - now have to change email password and hope they don't try to cause me issues over this.
