Read the article, at the bottom it implies this is more to do with unpaid debt to triad gangs. Most occupants of the houses are Chinese.

From a chat I had with a WG a few weeks back, she said the house they were in was targeted in Feb with text like "brothel" and a telephone number. Likewise, this week in the Slough area something similar happened and although that property is mixed ownership, its definitely had WGs in it for quite a while.

My gut feel it's some religeous zealots who will probably be found to be hypocrits in time...

Think it’s much more than random locals as it’s nationwide and specific to oriental shops and apartments used by them. We’ve had multiple attacks up north across Lancs and Yorks with the local rumours been it’s Chinese organised gangs either trying to damage Thai trade, get protection racket money or take it over.

The attacks also always use red paint and often brothel etc daubed all over. Too many similarities in the attacks to be random.

Sereral Thai girls have started working in the Slough property recently but the other one I was told about was Polish girls... who knows.. but agree,sounds like a group rather than an individual.

The more I’ve read and heard the more I agree. I for one won’t be spending any of my hard earned on the Chinese Vivastreet Agencies. Most of them are fake pictures and trafficked girls or certainly girls working off a major debt that incurs interest at a faster rate than they can suck cock (badly).

Not saying the Thai tourer market is squeaky clean but with the right research it’s possible to be confident you’ll get the right girl

Agreed though not sure what's behind it in Leytonstone and Walthamstow, the families affected have been quite open about their identity and they're not Chinese names.

As the Guardian piece says, there's plenty of web chatter about similar MOs used in Asia to show a debt collector means business.

Why would a debt collector ruin the chances of his victims earning money? It would only result in even less return on his investment.
Far more likely to be simply the Chinese OCGs threatening the competition/ And/or a simple protection racket

You can have all the conspiracy theories you like, but it was much more a matter of simple rivalry.

IME the massage burds in thai shops appear more relaxed [& therefore less likely to be trafficked / on escalating debt] than their chinese counterparts
You often see them front of shop whereas the chinese masseuses often only appear in the room
I prefer the more relaxed thai vibe

Being in a parlour with a trafficked masseuse if its raided isnt the best place to be
In addition to being dead against trafficking there is also the likelihood that a masseuse there of her own free-will [other than for example sending funds home to family] is more likely to provide a better session for the punter
Rather than being up against it in terms of generating ££ with the pressures & risks that this may bring

Interesting read in the guardian article and further evidence of the links to Organised Crime and Protection rackets.

You got to feel for both the legitimate landlords just looking to make a living and the girls who get subjected to the scare tactics and threatening behaviour. It’s also becoming increasingly obvious that all SP’s are at risk whether they are Thai, EE, English or Chinese.

It’s a clear play to monopolise the market, reduce competition and/or take a cut from it.

I for one will not be using SP’s where I suspect OCG involvement. The only way to stop them is by drying up their market. Let’s be honest, a lot of their market is riddied with bait and switch, double bookings leading to ghosting and quite frankly shit punts with  unattractive middle aged chinese women anyway.

I think I was the first to put the finger on the Chinese gangs for doing this, on here weeks ago.
The press are finally catching up. However I still think they've got the motive wrong: this seems more likely to be either a takeover move, or an old-fashioned "protection" racket.

Hopefully the media attention will bring about some police action but I think they’ll be chasing their tail. In the interim as punters we should stay away from obvious OCG run girls both on moral grounds as the girls have a higher chance of been trafficked to some degree and also cos they are trying to corner the market and putting good SP’s out of business.

Police action, this requires some effort by them & not reliant on just camera surveillance   
Makes it more difficult for pukka indies
& not forgetting that rocking up to an OCG set up the risks are considerably higher for the punter
+ most likely a beyond crap session

One of these (the one near a betting office) has now beeen shut down, with (repossession?) notices pinned to the door, vivastreet ads gone, numbers no longer responsive. Was in operation for about 3 years, part of one of the wider Chinese weekly rotations.
