I find the beach area quieter. And ... um... there is a beach.  If Sandy Spring on Soi 13 was not available, I would try one of the three 'See Me' hotels or 'Page 10' on near by Soi 10.  Some other good looking hotels are in Soi 11 and 12 - though I confess I didn't look in.  On the wiki page there is a link to a site that checks that all the hotels are girl friendly (though I cant imagine any not being so in the area between Soi 6 and WS)

Not it's not. You're just early and they haven't released the rooms yet. Wait a few months and look again.

Firstly, I'm looking to book the melia on pattaya sai song rd which is very close to soi 6, is the location recommended or would you suggest anywhere else. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to digs and want to stay somewhere nice.

Just be mindful that with regard to hotels in Pattaya, sometimes less is more. 5* hotels are often occupied by non-punters, families etc. Often Russians. You will be better off staying at a 4* to 4.5* hotel which is known to accommodate mongers.  In terms of luxury, in Thailand you will struggle to identify the difference between a good 4* and a 5*. If you want to get a feel for what a good 4* hotel looks like, have a look at 'The Stay' Hotel, Pattaya.

i agree with this - you don't really want to be in a "posh" hotel where most guests are not punters. having girlsd back to your room stands out much more there.

i also agree with steelydan about location - the soi's that run from second road to beach road are near the action, near the beach and with one or two exceptions like soi 6, are quiet at night. Sandy Springs on soi 13 is imo, a good choice.

I stayed at the Melia for a couple of weeks during April.. there is absolutely no issue with brining visitors back to your room.. the Hotel itself is listed as a 5*. Its quite okay but not a 5 in my opinion (ever so slightly dissapointed). i booked the larger suite so had plenty of space, its a bit too much black and chrome for me and a bit of a 'wornout' feel to it.. like something out of the 80's. the staff are nice and its clean.. location wise you cant fault it... its also on the cheaper side .

In Sept i went back and stayed in the Siam@Siam.. this was just up the road from Soi 6 and si felt a bit better quality to the Melia.. nice helpful staff and excellent rooftop pool/bar. I would stay here again .. good location

Prior to these two I was in the Somerset, opposite Central mall. This is the best one ive stayed in in terms of modern quality, a little more expensive that Siam and Melia, but worth it. Breakfasts were nice.. room service options good and was really comfy. Also the girl on reception has massive tits and a lovely smile (popular on IG)

I stayed also just this November but I rented a villa in Jomtien.. its a 10 min bike taxi from central Pats, but it has a much more relaxed vibe. Villa was plush with a pool 2.3K for 4 weeks, cleaned regularly,, a much better option which I will do in future as it provides much more freedom and space to move about .. the option to cook  (yourself or someone else) and the feeling of being at a home made this the preferred option for me.. 10 min walk to the beach..

The only think i didnt know beforehand is when i took a stroll down Jomtien walking street on the first night..

I just came back from Pattaya. I didn't actually check the forum the entire time I was out there. I will check next time if there are board members out there  :drinks:

Have always just gone solo previously - and probably prefer it that way  :D

Just an update - as of tomorrow, there are 4 of us (at least) in Pattaya for a week to 10 days!

We do operate solo ( well at least most of the time) and just meet up for a beer and a chat from time to
time!
If there is anyone else out here - shout out and I will make contact with you!

Hiya - sorry for the delay in responding - was just checking but everyone from this little group will be gone or leaving on the day you arrive!

Maybe if someone else is here or coming out they can get in touch and you can get a beer together!

No worries pal.

I'm back in Patts again after 4th May and then once more with feeling on 25th September. I try to visit 2 or 3 times a year.

Anyone who wants to grab a beer, let me know, happy to meet UKP:ers 😎👍

Maybe it's worth setting up a UKP Line Group for Pattaya meet ups?

One more comment from me about meetups.

We all have our favourite hangouts in Patts, however could we as UK guys try and support Brits out there trying to make it?

Let's take Finns as an example, they are great at going to Finnish owned and managed bars, supporting their fellow countrymen.

The challenge with Brits is that Patts was built up, in part, by many Brits and as such there isn't "A British Area", we're just spread out all over the place.

So if we do UKP meetups, perhaps choose a place run by Brits to show some support? With the drop in tourism, many places are struggling and if I'm just having a casual pint with friends, I'd rather do it somewhere to help out "the lads".

An example of a such a place would be Buttercups on Soi Diana, just off Buakhao, this is my personal "go to" for a social pint.

We need to be careful and mindful of rule 19 - I hope the Mods might give us a little leeway as we are abroad and a long way from homes but we must be careful not to flout the rule!
On your other note - I agree , however I think there are quite a lot of bars, clubs etc owned by Brits and a fair number more where the manager is British!
By coincidence, I and the small gang of guys  who are here atm went in Buttercups yesterday and had a chat with the owner ( a nice guy !)

Yeah, Alex is an absolute G, which is why I was recommending this bar. Very down to earth, and a superb host.

Really made everyone feel welcome.

I was part of the UKP meet up in Pattaya. It was really good to meet the other guys and I enjoyed the mix of group vibe with punting alone.

Pattaya really is a playground. I totally appreciate those doing lots of research before a trip and I get it. However, Pattaya you really can just venture and find a variety of choice. Whether it is Gogos, massage, freelancers, Gents Clubs, or Bar Girls, it is all there and accessible.

One recommendation is Soi 6, just see who catches your eye, buy them a lady drink (about 200B) if you hit it off then take them upstairs. Room fee about 500B, girls 1-3k B. Walking Street you can find freelancers in the clubs Insomnia and Republic, prices can vary but I would say 3k is about normal for ST. Walking Street Gogos you will find some good looking girls who you can bar fine for 1-2K and take home for 3-4k ST.

Beach Road had lots of freelancers, particularly towards the Walking Street end of the road. I didn't par take but there was a good variety of girls and Ladyboys if that's your thing.

I did go to PP Massage for a soapy massage. 2200 B The girl was perfectly nice looking but the service was robotic and sub standard. I prefer the normal massage places which are generally a bit cheaper and more fun. I connected with a massage girl on Soi 13/1, I think her name was Mina and she had a great rack. I think it was called DD massage but not 100% sure about that.

Treetown is a good spot to meet bar girls. I spent a few evenings here, usually a bit drunk as on my way back from a night out which meant I didn't bar fine but I got some numbers.

I tried TF and it was exactly hit and miss for me. Miss was a girl who turned up at my hotel room and was not nearly as good as her photos. Much heavier and not as good looking in person. I went through with it anyway for 2k B. The hit was May who was a just my type, petite with a out of proportion very natural looking (but not real) large rack. We hit it off instantly. A few nights later I met her in Republic nightclub and we spent another night together. She was my highlight in Pattaya. 2.5k for the first session and I think 5k overnight.

On to Bangkok for a few days. I stayed on Soi 11 Sukhumvit Arina Hotel, right in the middle of the action. Bangkok is not as easy as Pattaya but it can be just as much fun. Thermae is still going strong and 3k is still the going rate for a short session in your hotel. It's another hit or miss situation here. I rarely find what I like here as I like to connect with the girls first with some chat. However, I liked the look of one girl who was in her 30s and had a tight looking body. She spoke English so I made the offer and off we went. The service was OK and I got a bit of GFE from her so it turned out to be worth it.

I went to Analisa massage on Soi 6 as I like the 'Glory Hole' experience with 2 girls for 3.5k. Not the best looking girls but the service is aways good here. Later on I went to a normal massage place on the main Sukhumvit Road called Nang Seeda - just before the entrance to Soi 8. First experience was good with a Thai milf with a cracking body, she was very enthusiastic for 2.5k full service. Add the 500 b for the massage. The next time I went past I spotted pretty little thing outside who (after 30 mins in to the massage) only offered happy ending, I was very disappointed so I turned her down thinking I wanted a bit more than a HJ. I thought full service would be standard here but I was wrong.

Nana Plaza is going strong as was very busy. There is really only one Gogo worth going to IMO Butterflies has the best looking girls and even a few stunners. I didn't get an update on cost but I would think a bit more expensive than the Gogos in WS Pattaya. The other Gogos I felt were a bit of a rip off with very few good looking girls and pushy staff.

On the weekend along Soi 4 (same as Nana Plaza) had a lot of street freelancers. I didn't take any but I would think you could bag a bargain here. More variety as well with Africans ladies in the mix too.

There are also a few bars and nightclubs worth trying for freelancers. Hilary 2 (Soi 11) and Hilary 3 (Soi 4) had plenty of working girls plus pool tables which suits me. I also like Oskar Bar on Soi 11 (often has a decent DJ), a bit classier in here and many girls go looking here before heading to the nightclubs Elements and Sugar.

Last night was with an old flame who I had met punting in Hong Kong, a chance meeting but the perfect ending to my trip.
