Hi Folks,

Not long ago, or so it seems to my aging mind, if one wanted to confirm if a profile was too good to be true then a simple Google Reverse image search would do the job.
I must confess, it’s been a while since I’ve had to check because I’ve been sticking to my regular haunts. But times are changing and I’m looking around for something new, hence my discovery.

Google now detects faces and limits the results to protect privacy. Has anyone found an alternative system?

There’s been previous threats on this before, and there’s lots of similar recommendations to reverse image
Banned reason: Can’t stop having a pop at punters, on a punting forum, warned to many times now, no more!!

Google have completely bolloxed the search by image function - they redirect calls to it to the Google Lens system instead, which is more aimed at searching for commercial products rather than simple images.
What's annoying is the reverse image routine is still there - if you can get an old version of the "Search by Image" plugin (around V6) it will still use the old search routines and work.......until it bloody updates itself to V8.11 and the option disappears
I'm still working on trying to get it into a browser in a non-updating version.

What's made things worse is that since Yandex were forced to hand their search business back to a Russian company their search routine has gone to shit as well. A lot of their previously indexed stuff seems to have gone, presumably a result of politics behind the scenes. Presumably using the site now is likely to get you on the authorities blacklist...........

None of the other sites have the same range and depth as Google and Yandex had. All in all it's currently a PITA situation with much poorer search results all round
