Exactly, anyone with an OH might be asked to explain why their phone was "parked" at X location for X amount of time.

But if you leave it in the car parked around the corner exactly the same applies. What's the danger of taking the phone inside the venue that the booking is taking place compared to leaving in the car?

Offline Cheltclient

yes, if you had a wife. She may want to know why you were driving to a particular location  :unknown:

Doesn't matter to me though as I am not married  :hi:

Same as me - single. Like you, for years I just used my normal number. Probably a bit naive. Was when I registered here that I saw talk of a punting phone.

I ended up getting the cheap Asda sim too. Top it up like a fiver a month and get a bit of data for that. On that phone, I connect to nothing else and the sim sits in an old I phone that was scrubbed back to factory settings. Don’t connect email. Don’t do what’s app. It’s just there really for text and a little internet browsing. I’m sure some cyber genius could do some tracking back to the Asda site where you register it all but feels fairly safe.

Exactly my point, leaving it in the car is no better than taking it to the punt.

Neither are a good idea, unless you have a way of spoofing your location.

On android, I believe you can delete your location / timeline data.

You can, but what if someone is looking at it live?

I have the timeline / location history disabled on my phone. I also disable the location service when not required, however, when required I use my car sat nav (though this may not suit some).

I think location spoofing apps are available, though I've not used any.

As a side note, if someone is looking to track you, watch out for Airtags and the like.

I had to google to find out what Airtage was. I am glad I am not an apple user.

Good advice though

Are Vodafone cash top up vouchers still being sold by small convenience stores?

I tried a few the other day in Newport, typical small shop, usually asian run, none of them sold the vouchers. I haven't yet been able to try the one I usually use, in Cardiff.

Equilibrium restored, bought one as normal this week. Maybe Newport shops seen as too dodgy by Vodafone to be their agents. :unknown:

Speaking of punting phones, something to be aware of for those who have them stashed away...

I am presuming (without reading the full article) that you can turn it off in the phones settings.  :unknown:

On a similar subject. Are there any debit or credit cards that can be used for online payment that are anonymous? So that the person receiving the payment doesn't see the payers name or address. Tesco used to sell prepaid mastercard gift card things that would work but I havent seen them in a long time. It has to be Visa, Mastercard or Amex. I know paysafe codes exist. Thanks

I was so stupid not to delete texts with working girls.
Last year my 20 yr old daughter was making a call on my phone. Anyway, 6 months ago we had this massive argument and that's when she spilled the beans. I quickly deleted all texts, but the damage was done. Thankfully, my wife though initially irate came to understand what I was going through, as she was not really been intimate in bed.
Lesson learnt.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make but regardless you've been here coming up 18 months but haven't posted any reviews of the SPs you've been texting, is there a reason for that?

I think your phone also needs to be on for the alert to sound.

Buy the SIM from fleabay for 99p.
- text PAC to 65075 on your existing sim to get the PAC transfer code.
- you will need the PAC code and serial number from the O2 SIM card for the transfer..
They usually transfer on a business day.
