Author Topic: Do you call women females, or women?  (Read 1148 times)

I'm curious to know what you sexual sophisticates think: it's been on the outskirts of what's left of my mind for a while.

My theory is that men who call women females look down on them.

Before you answer here's a good Churchill joke: "Dogs look up to you. Cats look down on you. But a pig looks at you face to face like an equal.

I call dem my ho's n bitches.

Shouldn't this be in off-topic?

I think it depends on the circumstances  :unknown:

I sometimes call them female / women / ladies or girls.

Nowadays they are even called guys.

Whatever they are called, I don't normally look down on them.

Unless they deserve it ? ? ?

All about the context.
I don't look down on women, but I tend to use the terms women or ladies depending on the audience.

I often use "lady" to describe a woman. I must be old fashioned, just seems polite to me :hi:

All about the context.
Or more likely to be about whose company you are in and if they decide to take the hump at whatever you say, probably best sticking to "person of gender unspecified"  :dash:

I have an older extended family member, who is in his 80's.

He refers to a woman, whose name he does not know as "a female ".

e.g. "a female served me at the coffee shop this morning" - most family members, myself included find it derogatory. Changing the word to "woman, lady, girl", I don't find offensive.
