Author Topic: Warning for people not using a punting phone  (Read 6034 times)

Offline Hairyd06

Hi All,

So i messaged a few SP's over the weekend looking for a meet. Today I got a call from un unrelated number basically threatening me saying "we have a problem, you wasted one of my girls time and now you have to pay up or else".
Poor bugger must have been waiting all day for me to turn the punting phone back on just for me to tell him how far to shove it  :yahoo:

Just a reminder for all to be safe, use a dedicated phone for punting purposes where possible, and above all, don't fall for any of these scams for money...

Happy punting all

It must be a new aftercare service/policy that they have introduced.. just had a Chinese vista call me on punting phone… “fuck off”
Two snippets of advice that I took from my early days on ukp…  1 get a burner phone and 2 don’t tell a soul outside of ukp what you do!!
Happy fucking chaps

I put a Reverse bid on AW with my phone number displayed and got an identical message threatening to kill me and my kids if I didn't pay £900 for wasting and escorts time he also sent a video of someone been tortured luckily a punting phone and I also blocked him (sounded Bulgarian/Romanian)

Sounds horrible!

I've sometimes had to use my proper number but so have have been fortunate to not experience this. I don't think there's any easy way for them to find you any way... for example, Googling my number doesn't bring up any results. They're just trying their luck, a numbers game I guess.

I don't need this advice.

You clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in.  I'm not in danger, Hairy, I am the danger.

A guy sends me a text, you think that's me. I'm the one who sends texts.

WTF are you trying to say? Why are you having a go at the OP?

Calm down. It's a modified quote from breaking bad

most people wouldn't know that

It's a pretty well known quote from one of the most popular TV shows of the last decade or so, alot of people would recognise it.

most people wouldn't know that

I didn't recognise it and I've watched Breaking Bad.

Maybe this instead....  "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you stop texting me now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you"

Didn't mean to have a go at anybody. The reference just popped into my head.

Yeah we all get one of them sometime.
Got one Last year when just making polite enquiries regarding a SP in the northamptonshire area.
Told me I owed them £100 for wasting their time (I only made 2 txt messages & never booked!!)
Then said he knew who I was and I was messing with the wrong people!
I reminded him it was an incall I was enquiring about with the SP so I knew where to find him...& if I heard from him again I would pay him a visit with a couple of mates, bringing our trusty friends mr baseball bats!
Didn't hear a peep back.

Unfortunate to say but I think these are probably foreign gangs/pimps who treat the girls poorly.

Offline Celtic 69

Another one I got a few years ago was in the London area.
Same sort of crap saying I owed them money for wasting their girls time  - again I never made a booking.
I was getting a Romanian or Albanian vibe from them so I replied that I worked for UK immigration and if I heard from him again I would pay them an unannounced official visit to check everyone in the property documents...
Not a peep back from that one either!

For my punting phone I have this PAYG sim card (in a spare/old phone) but I have to top it up with £10 and it expires in a month, which is rubbish. Can anyone here recommend a better option?

Just sending a text should stop PAYG credit expiring?

Get a free GiffGaff sim card.

Offline deg_dilemma

Get a free GiffGaff sim card.

I don't want another monthly contract though.

I vaguely remember many years ago, you could get a PAYG SIM and top up with a £10 and it wouldn't have a time limit on it. So you could keep it for months until the £10 credit was used up.

Voda PAYG 1 used to be £1 for a day with unlimited calls, texts and 50mb
It worked for me, but now it’s £2, probably will go back to Lyca.

Offline deg_dilemma

I suppose I am being supremely tight by not wanting to spend £6/month for a punting SIM on monthly contract

Online Bdk78

I bought a Lebara SIM in a petrol garage for £1. Topped up a tenner on it and I don't think it has a time limit on the credit as standard but you can do fixed pay as you go monthly deals. It's fine for me as it's usually all by text and can last month's before I need a top up.

Offline jjh5148

Asda mobile is similar, you can top up and as long as you use some of your credit at least once every few months the credit won't expire.

You have to order the "free SIM" online, I think the ones in store you're buying a monthly package.

GiffGaff can be used PAYG. Send a text once every 6 months I think is the only requirement so that credit stays safe - they will send an email reminder well before deactivating too.
