i know someone who is after a used (3 -5 years old) small to medium sized car but left hand drive. (she wants to drive it to Italy and leave it there for use in Italy. she seems to think that prices of second had cars in Italy is way higher then here!

Could well be, I knew someone about 5 or 6 years ago who had a holiday home in Portugal and they were looking at buying a car in the UK to drive out there and leave as they were by far cheaper
Apparently it's something to do with less new cars being sold in those countries keeping the price of used ones artificially high, even tatty old wrecks fetch a high price

the photos I've seen of that collection have all shown red cars, in which case they'd make a good match for the Haynes Museum in Somerset (they've already got a hangar sized collection of red sports cars)
they'd look good next to these

Ah! But would you buy a used car from that man, even if it only had one careful owner?

I believe the semi conductor shortage after COVID stopped new car production for some time as most (predictably) are made in China, which caused used cars to increase in value.
