Anyone else had a Sergei try and shake them down on the phone?

Hey all just wondering if anyone else has had a phone call before from a Sergei asking for money? Got one today saying I flaked on a booking and need to pay 600 quid over the phone. Of course I said no and hung up. Gives the EE girls a bad name. For the record I have never made a booking that I have flaked on and only cancel with as much notice as possible. Most of the times I just enquire as to price location.

Don't worry about it, loads of us have had them, sometimes multiple times and so far we're all alive.
Just ignore them or tell them to fuck off, your choice.

And it's probably due to contacting a Vivastreet (or other minor website) advert which you never got a response from.
There's an increasing number of VS profiles which are there solely to capture phone numbers for this kind of intimidation

Also, if you don’t use one already maybe think about getting an app which gives you a free number to text/call from.  Better than a dedicated punting phone IMO. You can just burn the number if you start getting pesky calls.

I used one called Number2Go in the past but it's 7 quid a week or 9 a month, and I'm only punting every few months, so it's a very annoying overhead especially on top of the mad inflated pricing around these days.  If anyone has a cheaper option I'd love to hear it.  I've ended up only seeing a reg I trust with my real number rather than having to pay an extra 7 quid just to make an enquiry that might go nowhere.

No not put any booking or confirmed any. Normally stick to AW for potential meets but did use Viva recently will stick to AW from now on. Just wondered if it is something that happens/happened to others as to my knowledge this is the first time. Just said no not going to happen bye and hung up.

I don't even believe there is a "girl". There is a fake profile. I have a good idea on 2 of the profiles in Bristol that they use.

That sort code is for a company called Guavapay, so not a real traceable bank account.

They are based in Finsbury Circus so a call to the police mat=y result in some action being taken I suppose, even if Guavapay just cancel "Frank's" account due to attempted blackmail.
