it is a wide definition and will include for example only fans.  Does not mean WGs.

This is a story recycled almost as much as resistant gonorhea and let's criminalise purchase of sex to help save women who do not know they are being harmed.

This isn't to say these issues and stories are not real but starting to feel like a filler.

in my belief a sex worker is only a sex worker if she does have sex for money.

I won't get called a football player if I am seen in a photo holding a football.  :unknown:
my job title is not a fruit picker if I am putting fruits on the shelves in a supermarket  :unknown:
and I am not a sex worker if I take pictures of myself in the nude for a job  :unknown:

what the fuck has your definition to do with it?  The definition used in the article being discussed is what is relevant to the discussion.

says 5000 sex workers are in wales, they may all be wgs and that figure may not show only fans women in that number because they may define sex workers the same way as I define them.

no, i don't consider sex cams work as sex work.

If I act in a movie the role of a football player, am I an actor or a football player?  :D

women (or men) performing in front of a camera in a "sexy" way are entertainers in my view but not sex workers.

are actors playing a role in a erotic thriller sex workers? no they are not.

if kate winslet performs a sex act in part of her movie scene for a Hollywood film, she won't be regarded as a sex worker.

I hate to break it to you but they decided to use the ONS definition rather than consult with you. That as I said includes the full range of sex workers whether or not you think that is correct.

The call for decriminalisation usually refers to allowing 2 SPs to work together, this is currently illegal.

fully decriminalised means allowing sex worker to work anywhere. Currently in Engand, wales and scotland sex workers cannot work in brothels, they cannot work with a friend in the same property and among other things.

Prostitution is legal and sex workers are not breaking the law by working in a brothel, unless they are have any involvement in the management of the brothel  :hi:

Not strictly true.

Also what is strictly illegal and what would be in the public interest to prosecute are two very different things. There's a lot of scope for discretion by the police and CPS.

While that may be the strict interpretation of the Law, as DavieMac says, there is a lot of discretion exercised by Law Enforcement. The day's when brothels were routinely raided are long gone, unless there's an allegation of the women being trafficked or coerced into sex work, the Police have enough in their plates to deal with.
