Comms: No booking - Walk-in. Receptionist pleasant, good english
Location: Found myself in Hammersmith with an hour to kill. Thought I would check out Herbal China (found it to be closed down) and 1689 smile smile. Shop is 10 minutes walk down king street from the tube. Not discreet (can also be seen once inside) but seems to have a number of female customers coming and going so doesn't feel 'obvious' or 'dodgy'.
Set-up: a few small rooms behind reception with a central corridor. Rooms have a sliding door into the room with a shed like latch, so doesn't feel very private. My room was small with enough space for a massage table. No shower (I think that was at the end of the corridor in the toilet).
The intro: I asked for a 1 hour massage and was asked to go into the room and wait for the masseuse. As I was waiting there I was formulating my strategy of keeping the excitement up by not saying what I want up front, but making the SP tease me into it. I also wondered about the name of the shop. Was 1689 the last time a punter came out of the shop with a smile? All of this was blown (not in a good way) away when the SP entered...
Massage S.P. : The SP that entered was a slim, small thai lady estimated age in the 60's (Pratip?) who asked me to take off my clothes but maintain PO (Pants On), in addition to place another cloth over my body and then she stepped out. I realised the bad omens at that point but was already committed (ie. I had paid!) so thought it best to go through with it. When the SP entered she delivered a perfectly good massage with no hint of anything else (I thought I would react positively when she got close to the action areas just to see if anything was offered, but with no response. At this point I didn't really want it anyway, so I didn't pursue. She delivered a good massage for the full hour, no complaints in that department.
Conclusion: I rated this as a negative in the spirit of UKP, massage was fine but no extras and a double 'covering' meant to me this place is legit, even if there was a rogue SP there are probably limited options due to lack of privacy and also noise with the thin walls and close proximity of the rooms. I concluded that there are other places with alot more certainty for the punting community. Onwards and upwards.
