Author Topic: Is Skegness the most barren town in the U.K. for punting?  (Read 2555 times)

For my sins I’m having to spend another week in Skegvegas soon, from memory last year there was just absolutely nothing to be had, not even a Chinese R&T shop, do you guys all keep them hidden or just travel West when you want to punt, any local recommendations to escape the ‘fun-fairs’ at least once or twice would be MUCH appreciated :)

No; just very bad at spelling.

You may want to post in the East Midlands section as that covers Skegness. There are some previous posts in there.

I visited Watsana a couple of times last year, decent massage & HE, bit on the pricey side but it did the job. I had to ask for the HE, it wasn't offered.

Skeg is a dump. I had the misfortune to spend some time there years ago, on maintenance contracts.
My advice is save time, and money, and punt when you get back to your normal area :hi:

And worse with unnecessary semi-colons . . .

What is this a punting website or English grammar school ? No wonder people are reluctant to post reviews or ask questions  on here if certain small minded members have nothing better to do than pick fault.  Get a life you sad people.

But you're name-calling, which is worse.

I am far from sad: very happy, thank you. Sex twice a week ia almost a miracle at my age.

You say people are reluctant to post reviews. Based on what? There is no shortage - that's what makes UKP so worthwhile.

As to grammar, Confucius, wiser than you and me, said if he ran China the first thing he would do is make sure grammar was used correctly, because if not "what is said is not what is meant, what should be done is not done and there is endless confusion."

Well I'll sleep better tonight knowing that and it's "sex twice a week IS almost a miracle" not ia as you have posted. So you critisise someone for their grammar and you can't spell "is"  :sarcastic:
"People who live in glass houses" etc

While this thread was posted in "Yorkshire" no-one bothered about the spelling.
Move it to "East Midlands" and the spelling complaints start.
Must be a lesson there somewhere....

Hope you checked your spelling before you posted that .
Otherwise you'll be getting a visit from the spelling  gestapo  :D

Come on, Mr C, your comment was a bit below the belt. The OP may have just overlooked a rogue spellcheck - something unlikely to concern Confucius - and even if he didn't, it's not all of us whats been blessed with perfect grammer and spelling, and so what?

None of which should detract from Skeggy being not only a most Godforsaken dump, but in the middle of nowhere. I had to go there 10 years or so ago, and seem to remember driving for hours through endless fields of cabbages and brussels sprouts, highlighted only by various bits of rusting farm machinery that appeared to have been abandoned in the 1930's.

I really can't stand Skegness.  It's hardly surprising when the average age of the residents appears to be 85.  It feels like you're walking through Gods waiting room... with a beach.  They should change the coat of arms to a bath chair and an incontinence bag.  I can't imagine that there is enough demand to attract a good standard of local SPs.

Yes, but also just the most barren town in the U.K.

The sign coming into Skeggy says:

"Skegness: Where Dreams Come To Die.

Twinned with Chernobyl."

Offline Paul Shanahan

On the other hand, making Skeggy one big tolerance-zone for prostitution is probably the only way they could revive the town's tourist trade. Not quite Pattaya on the North Sea, but...
