Had a quick visit to Amsterdam and Den Haag, and can confirm that Den Haag is still okay, but Amsterdam is awful, and only worth having a look if you are there anyway.
My visit was during a big match for the Netherlands at the Euros, so both places may have been less busy than normal.

I really like RLDs, and even though they aren't as good as they used to be, they still excite me.
My main focus is on dominatrixes and transsexuals, and a very kinky service, and I love seeing all the shiny red, black, and metal, in the windows as I walk around and make my choice.

Den Haag

As has been mentioned on here, there is a choice of 2 RLDs in the Hague - the Geleenstraat is the more upmarket one, from 50 Euros, and Doubletstraat is about a 10 minute walk away, and starts at 40 Euros.

Doubletstraat was a complete waste of time for me - mostly Africans and Latinos of a low standard (and I do have low standards myself)

Geleenstraat (also links to Hunsestraat) was still fairly decent with much better looking girls, and a nice choice of EEs, dommes, and a small group of  T-girls.
If you like a T-girl domme there is a lovely Columbian in the corner, who gives a great service, and is a great kisser.

Amsterdam

As has been described on here, there are 3 areas.

De Wallen
The main touristy one, not far from the station.
Just too many tourists, and idiots, and not as many girls or windows, and the services are not good value.

Singel area
I was hopeful that I would like this one, as it has been described as being more for serious local punters, and with quite a few kinky windows and transsexuals.
I don't know if it was because the football was on, but this one was a complete waste of time, hardly any windows, and only low standard Africans and Latinos.

De Pijp / Ruysdaelkade
A bit further out, and a bit better.
If you fancy having a look, it's really easy and cheap to get to from Amsterdam Central on M52 metro, just wave a bank card at the machine and make sure you keep using the same card to get out and back, and it costs less than 3 Euros. Get off at Amsterdam De Pijp, and walk round the corner.
It was obviously not really busy because of the football, but some decent ladies, but only worth visiting if you are in Amsterdam anyway.

I prefer Den Haag both for punting and as a city.  Chilled place to visit!

Earlier in the year, i flew through Schiphol and arranged the connections to leave time for a side trip.
Previously Ive nipped into Amsterdam, but this time I thought id go to the hague. I think it was like 30 mins on the train from the airport.
my plan was to go to one of the 'private houses' they have in the hague like this : External Link/Members Only
However, I messed up somehow in my planning as on the sunday afternoon I turned up all their websites said they were closed. Maybe it was a local holiday.

But the red light area at External Link/Members Only was open.
It very different to the wallen area in amsterdam, which to me has a party vibe. there are certainly lots of people, bars and stuff around.
at geleenstraat23 its completely silent, no bars. No passers-by just punters, all staring through the windows with intent.
The one girl I tried was completely business like, ok amsterdam is like that too it just added to the soleless vibe.
I spent the afternoon is a tree lined square fell of bars and got the train back to the airport full of beer but with full balls.
I still want to try out casacherda (need to double check when its open) but I wont be back for  the red light area

I agree Geleenstraat is definitely much more business like and could be described as soul-less, but I think for serious punters, that's a huge positive ..... the party atmosphere of De Wallen just really pissed me off ....

De Wallen might be best if you are stumbling around pissed up with your friends having a laugh.  The actual service is crap though and will consist of a lot of upsells and limited/rushed services.

Amsterdam is a tourist trap, not a realistic place to punt.

When I was in Amsterdam last year, the De Pijp RLD had a fair number of windows open and had the benefit of being nearly competely dead, no foot traffic other than a few locals and one or two punters. Gave me a lot more confidence to go up to the windows with no one there.

I walked through De Wallen for the spectacle of it, but was not very interested in going up to a window with the rowdy crowd.
