The leeching needs a serious look: this has taught me a lesson and I’m not reviewing for a long time. I’m annoyed quite frankly. Frequent reviewers are givers and rarely take. The model is wrong in its current state and I’m done with it.

Me frequenting these forums is mostly boredom and a sense of belonging, which is highly questionable and I still need to explore. Granted, I’m not the typical punter and fuck and TOFTT more often than most. Enjoyment isn’t there, the community isn’t what I want, it’s getting tiresome and I’ll go sooner than later at this rate

Well said, completely agree with you. Unfortunately, I can’t imagine the site has the resources to police a proper vetting system; I don’t see anything changing in relation to most visitors just leeching good info. Regardless, it’s undeniable that the current model provides very little incentive to share. Let me leave a glowing review for this SP and then subsequently find her harder to book, more expensive, and on the off chance I do revisit, likely jaded from all the UKP hammerings she’s been taking. For a good long while, in the bubble of hopeless optimism that a punting community with a sizeable, active minority of good faith contributors (albeit each with their own oft unstated limits on how much they shared) I pitched in pretty much 100% of every first encounter.  Over time we've seen many valued sources clam up, depart or get ejected and despite the burgeoning new memberships, some 300+k new members since I joined for a net gain of maybe 40-60k, the monthly avg count of new reviews isn't much more than it was then (despite doubling by '21 and then halving since) and in spite of the more regulated community behaviour.  Perhaps CoP is really inhibiting some punters, although there seem to be plenty of wadded punters active as ever, some even reviewing.

Why spend so much time here? Like Don there was the lure of a community around a taboo interest that might prove more than just practical use, it has helped me avoid far more SPs (many reviewed positively but whose described services and performance did not appeal) than ones to see let alone repeat.  I did review those who I went on to see as regulars at least until they got jaded or upped their prices because they got busier or were convinced by other punters they should charge more.
So there is still utility but much less than before and I have cut back my participation considerably.
