Apparently there is the European championship coming up soon for Wendy ball in Switzerland. (not that I'll be watching any of it ) however a monthly football magazine I get had a free supplement about it. A quick look at some of the stadiums who are staging games include the Wankdorf stadium* :D  so it got me thinking well I've been Wankdorf a lot of times by ladies perhaps I should give it a look. * I wonder how many of the male commentators  will make a reference to the stadium name

I think you'll find that the Wankdorf Stadium is the home of Young Boys.

Know English fans have traveled for this event, wonder if any fans got knocked back at border control, and sent back home.  Guess not long enough time to apply for a visa, but left with the only option, of a ESTA application

So for FIFA 2026, guess some fans will have no choice but to make a Visa applications to visit USA

"Chelsea also played at the stadium two years ago - and almost sold out with more than 70,000 fans watching them face Newcastle in a friendly tournament named the Premier League Summer Series"

In the Mercedes Cup 2023 1-1

Which reminds me that the Europa wasnt Spursey's first tournament win & cup
They won the Audi Trophy in 2019 on pens
Against Arry's subsequent wage payers [i want to play for them !]
6 years is a long time for a trophy to be on its own

Arteta would take the Mercedes Audi cups, any final outside the FA Carabao
& be better for 80 out of the 90 mins, just that in the other 10 mins the oppo would win it

ESTA applications are just an IQ test - most failed applications ae because  someone ticked the I  am a Terrorist box

Thanks to Trump anyone who visited Cuba is also excluded
If you don't qualify for an ESTA then the normal VISA requires an interview at the US embassy which can be a 6 month wait

Why cant people just go to the Dominican Republic ?
I cant see it being much different
I would wager that not one english fan has been to Cuba [recently] & is then planning to go to the US for this 'competition'

The reality is that Chelsea & City fans are just looking for an excuse to head to the US
Especially those with over-bearing OHs
What not to like - massage parlors a plenty & escorts
Tho my suggestion would be to stick to the former

Last nights game, Boco Juniors v Benfica was very entertaining, so hope tonight game, Fluminense v Borussia Dortmund, is just as entertaining

Loving the ref cam, and hope this comes to the English Premiership

I would say so as it's then no longer the 2024/2025 season, it's the 2025/2026 one.

I would say so as it's then no longer the 2024/2025 season, it's the 2025/2026 one.

Its been some season, one of my favourites
The obvious one  ;)
The year of the underdog - The Magpies & The Eagles
Spursey finally get a trophy to add to their Audi Cup
Sheffield Utd snatch defeat from the jaws of victory who doesnt lurve a late happy ending [Wilder is a wanker & is now spanish archer]
Another promotion for Wrexham, i'm rather hoping that Barn Door Bamford signs for them to get his wages off the books
Wimbledon AFC go up too
The Inter Barcelona CL semis probably the best ever [Barcelona PSG would have been a much better final]
Arteta losing the plot - the wrong balls [use them in training you fucktard] & being better for 160 out of the 180 mins [shame the other 20 is when the oppo won ]
There's another obvious one - the gift that keeps on giving  :yahoo:

Last season I posted that I wasn't going to take the piss out of man utd and lasted until about Christmas time, I invited the rest of you and got short shrift

Undecided for next season as on one hand it could be fun especially if the form picks up where they left off and they are in a relegation scrap but on the other hand it's like shooting fish in a barrel

Casemiro only on 350 a week - not bad for a fat f****r
Fernandez 300k their best player by miles - lets see if Saudi @ 1m+ tempts - tax free
Mount is on 250k a week which when noting how many matches he plays in must be topping £1mill

Mohamed Salah headlines the six-player list and is the overwhelming favourite to win the award.

Yeah Bruno Fernando's is a very good player but it's easier to shine when you are surrounded by crap, Just like Gerrard was good but in an overall relatively poor Liverpool side most seasons

Out of that list most people would probably pick Salah as he stood out in the title winning team but Issak can't be far behind, not on the list but I liked Eze from Palace last season

Spain great in patches and probably feel they were the better side - several decent saves from our keeper and blocks from defenders

Good to see an England side looking to go forward and everyone working for each other - pass and move

Cricket, is that the sport they play for 5 days then ends in a draw or they don't like playing in the rain and so call it a draw. I think I'd rather watch paint dry.
Is this the sport we invented, gave to the rest of the commonwealth countries but get beaten by them  :D

TBF the midweek evening matches like @ Lords are pretty good although more about the socialising

Duckworth-Lewis-Stern to me is like Arteta post match saying they were better for 160 of the 180 mins, however they still got beat  :D

Why not start a cricket thread instead of posting on this football one then if anyone is interested they can comment to their hearts content?  :unknown:

Anyway back on topic, I thought we did well in the game, some great defensive work.

Have't seen the Dutch play so don't know what they're like hopefully we'll beat them and get to the final again.

I didn't watch the Portugal  v Netherlands game but Netherlands played most of it with only 10 men and Portugal also missed a penalty.  I did watch England's last group game against the old enemy Germany which they lost 2-1 and didn't play particularly well. We could meet them again in the Final if they overcome France but I fear the French will win the tournament.
