Wankchester United have just exercised their option to extend Ten Bob Note's contract for a further year.  So we can expect 8th place in the PL, 30 points behind the Champions, and Thursday night European football, then.

put your money where your mouth is? i imagine he will come good, certainly top six.

Ipswich if they are geographically in the central Suffolk and North Ipswich constituency rather than the Ipswich constituency  :unknown:

Can't believe there is only 1 out of 92 though

Bromley who were promoted to the football league for the first time inthe club's history .

Craig Bellamy appointed Wales manager, a feisty little fucker, I remember him as a player at Coventry, *  no doubt  daviemac remembers his time at Newcastle. Someone said of him he could start an argument in an empty room. He was certainly a passionate player. It will be interesting to see how he gets on as a national team manager with the Euro nations league and World Cup qualifying coming up next.
*In fact looking at his CV you'd be hard pressed to find a team he didn't play for.

Yeah remember him well, good player but shit attitude, very disruptive in the dressing room. Scored a good goal in Europe from the byline if I remember correctly.

I believe he had a fallout with Shearer and it was rumoured he was part of the group that got Sir Bobby the sack.

You’re right Davie. Shit attitude and no surprise he was the sort of bloke who lost all his money through “ Bad Investments”

I’m sure when he was up North some magazine did a photoshoot of his house. Proud as punch of it he was………. It was a right show off palace and totally tasteless.

Was Bellamy one of the players fighting a teammate in a game against Villa years ago? I remember Gareth Barry trying to part them but don’t remember who the Newcastle players were.

No that was Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer.

That match was in April but Bellamy had been shipped out to Celtic on loan in the January for being a tosser.

Ahhhh thanks!
I should add that Bowyer spat his dummy out because Dyer wouldn't pass him the ball, Graeme Souness was the manager and he threatened to beat them both up.

The blame was put on Bowyer and he was fined 6 weeks wages and nothing happened to Dyer, though Freddy Shepherd, the chairman, told him he should have stuck the nut on him. (He is a Geordie).   :D

Online mr.bluesky

I always remember David Batty and Grahame le Saux having a bit of a spat for Blackburn Rovers during a Champions league match. It always seemed a bit of a mis match to me , Batty being a bit of a tough nut and Le Saux being a bit airy fairy.
Apparently training ground bust ups are quite common  but not so much on pitch bust ups between team mates.

I see reports that ManU are on the verge of selling Mason Greenwood to Marseille for £35million
External Link/Members Only

I must admit to being conflicted
1) at best he was/is an utter prat
but
2) he hasn't got any outstanding charges let alone convictions

So did ManU do the correct moral thing in suspending him and deciding he shouldn't play for them again  ?
have they been brave or cowardly ?

now I realise this aint gonna happen and this was a purely business decision after some pretty heavyweight legal advice
but if they are claiming the high moral ground should they profit from it ?
is the £35 million tainted and should it be donated to charity ?

I'm surprised his Spanish club Getafe didn't try and buy him, by all accounts he did well for them, unless they couldn't afford the fee. I very much doubt the fee will be given to charity knowing what a ruthless business man Sir Jim Rattcliffe is especially as he has recently made a lot of staff redundant at the club.

Seems everyone is bailing out of Newcastle.
Nothing to worry about, they were only really the brokers in the takeover. It just gives the PIF and the Reuben brothers more of the club and they won't be going anywhere.

If you class someone with a 6% stake as everyone what do you class the ones with the other 94%?   :unknown:

Aye very true but £14m is still a lot of money when her net worth is estimated at only £110m.   :D

There's loads of rumours knocking about but from what I understand this was all part of the plan, her and her hubby would stay and steady the ship until a suitable board of directors was assembled which I think they have now.

Who knows the truth though?

Trouble at the Bridge

The French FA is to complain to Fifa about racist chants by Argentina players in a controversy which is also being investigated by Chelsea.

Members of Argentina’s Copa America-winning team were filmed singing a racist and homophobic song after their victory over Colombia in Sunday’s final.

The chants were heard during a live video posted on social media by the Chelsea and Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernández from the team bus after the match in Miami.

Fernandez's  Chelsea teammates Fofana, along with his France and Chelsea team-mates Malo Gusto and Axel Disasi, have also complained

The song was first sung by Argentina fans ahead of the 2022 World Cup final, in which Argentina beat France. The words include “they play in France but they are all from Angola”, and also references players’ parents being from Nigeria and Cameroon.

The song also goes on to direct homophobic insults at France’s striker Kylian Mbappé. Recordings appear to show the Argentina players singing the Angola portion of the song while Fernández smiles.

it cant be good for Chelsea to have such opinions in their side and are understood to be investigating while FIFA are understood to be looking for a carpet to sweep it under

wasnt there also an investigation about whether he had been illegally approached ?

Everything is now closed and he is getting on with his job. Signed two young top prospects in one week. Disposals already started and further planned as will be further signings.  :hi:

He had nearly a year left on his contract but I would be more inclined to believe the £10m, the PIF held all the aces and I can't see a multi billion outfit dropping from £20m to £3m. Having said that it's something we can only speculate on, would anyone risk their job to leak confidential information that might be covered by a non-disclosure agreement?   :unknown:

If this news was released back in April you'd think it was an April fools story but Manchester City have been fined £2 million pounds for late kick off offences which occurred 22 times last season. This means they didn't kick off on time or kick off for the start of the second half on time. This is surely down to the referee  :unknown: Still £2 million is a drop in the ocean for a club like Manchester City. If you can't get them on financial fair play then clobber them for something else  :D

He was brilliant for Scotland in the Euro qualifiers (our best player in my opinion) and then went missing at the finals, mind you so did the rest of them. Is he really worth £20M, United fans were never really keen on him according to what I've heard.

Interesting reports coming out of Chelsea that they have agreed terms of £34m with Atletico Madrid to sell Gallagher  and he has been told that he might as well agree to go as he wont be in the first team squad unless he signs a new contract which he has refused. Chelsea would of course much prefer that he didnt go to an English club

Of course he might choose to see out his remaining years contract going through the motions for the 2nd XI and then become a free agent, do his coaching badges etc - esp as there is no guarantee he will be in the new England managers immediate plans.

I think it’s because he’s a home-grown player any money Chelsea receive for him should he move counts as pure profit under PSR rules.
