Pancake day today.
Anyone like pancakes ?
I'm having two after my evening meal

They were my evening meal, I've smashed about 7 with maple syrup .. needless to say feeling a bit sick now

5 for me, a slight sprinkle of sugar and a generous squeeze of a Sicilian lemon

Made a plate of 25 this morning and took them into the team in work, took fresh lemon juice, Nutella, lemon curd, sliced strawberries,  raspberries and maple syrup in and we all got together for elevenses

Shrove Tuesday. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday the start of Lent and 40 days of fasting before Easter Sunday. Making pancakes was apparently to use up supplies of milk and eggs before the period of fasting begins.

but another serious question - why do we think pancakes as being unhealthy? If I told you that i ate egg on toast with a cup of milk you wouldn't think that it is unhealthy but put egg, milk with flour to make pancakes suddenly it seemed to be unhealthy.

There used to be a "Dutch Pancake House" in Manchester many years ago. Closed about 20 years now.
I used to frequent. They served great pancakes, with a multitude of flavours.
It was on Oxford Road.
