Recently i've been seeing a lot of products getting bigged up as "Dubai Chocolate" with "Pistachio cream"
It does appear to be quite pricy however I recently had a token for a free bakery product from Lidl and while choosing what they had on offer there were Dubai chocolate muffins with Pistachio cream, normally priced at £1.99 each (And remember this is Lidl) but if it's free then why not try this sensory delight

Bang fucking average, in fact I was struggling to taste the cream much or tell what was so special about it, another thing that's bigged up is the texture which I thought was fucking horrible

AI Overview -
From LIDL, Lindt and all the £££ brands, we've tried them and ...
Dubai chocolate is special due to its unique texture contrast (creamy pistachio-tahini filling with crunchy kataifi shredded pastry), decadent flavor, viral social media appeal (visuals, crunch sound), and perceived luxury/exclusivity, stemming from the original Fix Dessert Chocolatier bar inspiring a global craze with limited supply, but often featuring unlabelled allergens in imitations.
Key Elements of its Appeal:
Texture Triple Threat: The filling offers a rich, smooth pistachio-tahini cream contrasting with the distinct crispiness and chewiness of the shredded phyllo pastry (kataifi), a Middle Eastern staple.
Social Media Sensation: Its visual appeal (vibrant green filling, sleek packaging) and the satisfying crunch sound when broken make it perfect for platforms like TikTok, driving massive demand.
Exotic & Indulgent Flavor: It's known for being rich, sweet, and nutty, combining familiar chocolate with unique Middle Eastern flavors (pistachio, tahini) for a luxurious feel.
Inspired by Tradition: The original bar from Fix Dessert Chocolatier modernizes the traditional knafeh dessert, making it accessible and trendy.
Scarcity & Price: Limited supply, especially of the original, and its high price point (around $20) added to the hype, making it a sought-after luxury item.
Why the Hype? The combination of novel texture, visual appeal for sharing, perceived luxury, and the satisfying sensory experience (creamy, crunchy, sweet) created a perfect storm for virality, even spawning numerous imitations from major brands.
A Note of Caution: While the viral trend is fun, official bodies have warned that many unofficial "Dubai chocolate" products might contain undeclared allergens like peanuts or sesame, so caution is advised for those with allergies.
