I've recently invested in a new PC.

The new one has a SSHD and windows 11.

On my old PC (windows 10 and a Sata HD) I have thousands of photos of working girls that I've taken over the last 10 years plus gigabytes of porn that I don't want to lose.

I've plugged there old hard drive in to use as a back up for my SSHD. I can easily transfer files from Windows 11 to my old SATA hard drive


However, when I try to access existing files I get "permission decided". I've gone through the help screens. I've logged on as an administrator I've tried to change in privileges - all to no avail.

I'm sure a computer geek could sort it out in minutes but who do I take it to. I'm sure the local computer so would have a field day when they click on the images and see me romping with dozens of naked women

OP you need to take ownership of the old drive. Just google "take ownership of an external HD in Windows 11" and you will find several ways of doing so. Some might not work but you will find a solution there.

This seems to work in a fashion - but only with one file/photo at a time.  I've got thousands to do

You could get a geek to come to you
I suggest a bloke rather than a burd
Try & suss out if he's a bit of a geezer
& have him work on your two PCs in front of you with him connecting nothing of his to it / them
Level with him as to what you need doing / why & wedge him up extra in cash

Romping with dozens of naked women is quality behaviour
As long as no laws broken cant see any issues
Unlike when Gary took his computer to PC World [i bet the staff there nearly fell over] 

One option is to pay a geek for advice over the phone
You describing the problem & what you are doing
This may work without the geek seeing your huge porn stash & hookering exploits
Could be something minor which you are doing wrong

A work around could be to upload everything to online storage from your old PC
[its cheap as chips these days for 250gb / 1Tb / 2Tb etc]
You should be able to leave the upload running
Then access the online storage from your new PC 
Try on some files & see if you can open
If you can open then carry on & you can also download onto a new drive from the new PC

Try on some files & see if you can open

That in itself will stop file sharing across the machines.Try the "take ownership" tip above, but you may need to create identical user accounts on each machine then copy the files to that profile

I recovered an old hard drive just a few weeks ago and had a very similar issue to you. I googled the error I was getting and it was due to the files on my old hard drive being under a Windows User Profile so I could not copy them across. I was able to right click on the folders and change the privileges. I was definitely able to do this by folder rather than by individual file so not sure why that isn't working for you. Maybe try again?

Good luck getting it sorted. I recovered the drive because it had loads of MP3s that I had spent hours ripping from CD years ago complete with all the album art etc. The porn stash I had on the same drive (cunningly stored under a "House admin" directory) was a secondary objective but it was great to see all the old photos and videos I stashed back in the day. The hard drive was 10 years old and had porn going back about 15 years. It highlighted that my taste in women has definitely changed, I used to love curves and boobs but I'm totally for the slim hard bodies now but it was great to see some of my old favourites again.

It's Black Friday so maybe look out for deals. I bought two 2 TB reconditioned external drives from WD last year for £55.

I've a few machines and have had no issues in adding in other drives via a SATA cable, accessing them opened on the screen and copy and paste or drag and drop from one disk to the other, and for that matter USB drives all OK..

I've managed to get it to work.  So, yes, I can see all of my pictures now.

What I find a shame is that fewer and fewer SP allow the taking of photographs. Rewind the clock 10 years and I found easily have 3 bookings per week that would allow this.

There’s decent 2Tb SSDs now. For just a 1Tb the Kingston stick works as fast as a wired drive. If you save stuff in 4K though a 4Tb HDD might be better.

Probably because things have changed. There weren't as many places where pictures could be posted and shared online,  it wasn't as easy to do, reverse image search was relatively unknown, social media sharing, etc.

If you are still stuck after trying the above. You can get a "geek" to remote you (via teamviewer) and fix the issue. I know a few but i cannot post details here.

I'm still having fun working through the folders weeks later. I would guess I wouldn't be able to share the whole video with you though or is it okay if the video isn't even available for sale anymore? The resolution isn't great.

IIRC SS had an apartment separate to the parlour, which could be booked
Cant recall if for the north or south manchester location maybe both
Or i could be getting confused with another Manchester SP set up

Yes they experimented with an apartment set up whereby some of the SP's were available to book in a separate apartment and appealing to those punters averse to attending parlours. I also cannot remember now whether it was Northenden as well as Prestwich?

The problem was the rate was higher so you could see the same girl for less in the parlour. It was eventually scrapped.

The website images of SS girls were very well archived and accessed using 'wayback machine' although I haven't checked for some time.

The Sandy in the video worked from her own apartment (Sandy's Apartment) but to my knowledge never worked  at Sandys Superstars, but my memory ain't what it was so I could be wrong. All so long ago now!

For punters wanting not to be seen waiting for the door to be buzzed open whilst only a couple of seconds it must have felt like an eternity
