I was in Asda the other day and noticed they have CCTV on all the self checkout tills, there's a screen in front of you showing your face and recording the transactions, that's it I'm never leaving the house again in case they make a mistake and send my picture to the CIA.
I believe Asda have also got a data sharing agreement with the Russian government so you are screwed.
That tubby chef who’s worth millions was busted stealing wine from the self check out. I think he blamed it on stress, anxiety or some other bollocks. No you count, you thought you could get away with it and got busted!!
This has been common in some supermarkets in Europe for the last 10 years, and no one complains. Guess when it comes to complaining, this is a UK thing, and we will complain abut most things new
I can see the logic behind the receipt scanning etc but what about those "scan as you shop" gizmos where you just put the item straight in a bag and download it at an unstaffed "till"? Even more scope for nicking stuff there!
I presume the logic is if they lose x% in theft its cheaper than paying someone to staff a till When anyone suggests I use a self checkout I decline and tell them I'm saving their job !
Has Sports Direct gone over to scan as you shop now, it's been a while since I was in one of his shops but wouldn't have thought it was the type of place suitable for that.
No me neither, probably a higher % of scallies and trackie bottom wearing hoodie types in there who would be looking to lift a few items than you get in a regular supermarket
No, AFAIK Sports Direct hasn't, but the thread has been side tracked into Supermarket shopping, who have.
