Got scammed by Amber Sage - Manchester

Probably the most dumbest thing I’ve done this year so far  , but a few days ago I saw Amber Sage profile on AdultWork and messaged her to book some time today. She asked me to deposit £ 50. Since she had some positive reviews I decided to go ahead and deposited £110  , fast forward today is the day we were supposed to meet at 11:00 am,  I asked her around 10:00 to send me the location details,

her response: “morning im fine wbu deposits first”

At this point I knew I had messed up.

I told her I had already sent a deposit and sent her the screenshots of the chat, she then asked what time? I responded with what time are you available? No response.

I messaged her again around 11:30 saying it’s fine if she can’t do today and she should let me know what time she’s available the next day still no response, it’s now almost 5pm.

I think it’s safe to assume that I was scammed.

I searched her number online and it turns out she scammed someone £2500 apparently. (Attached screenshot of the post)

I learned my lesson to never ever make a deposit. Sent the deposit through cashapp, so reported as a scam, hopefully I will get my money back albeit I highly doubt it will happen.

That’s because she charged anal as an extra (£60) so decided to deposit that too just to carry less cash (really stupid I know), yea it looks like Paulthedude is the only one with multiple reviews, I’m assuming she did meet people in the past but probably decided to start scamming. Just noticed her last review was from last year too.

Honestly looking at the statistics of dating apps and seeing how it favours women more than men (average young men) I don’t really think it’s worth creating an account, I haven’t tried it but most people who tried tinder never had anything good to say about it.

I’ll create an account with low expectations that way I’m not disappointed.

Basically prices have gone up and there's less top talent about right now in many regions, possibly the rise of only fans, sugar daddies and camming but seems to be picking up again so could just be a lockdown thing i'm hoping. London's on fire for talent so doesn't bother me personally but even that's not great for independents

I liked dating apps used them a lot prior to covid, but I prefer sober sex any time of the day with minimal effort so puntings the way to go for me. Unless you're good looking or got money you're likely not pulling 8s+ on them

Re deposits you'll hear all sorts of shit, safest way to never get scammed is don't pay deposits, I do but it's a judgement call and only to girls with like 50+ proper feedback, and never for an incall. Even for an outcall with a trusted sp it'd be enough to cover her travel and nothing more as the gesture shows your genuine, but many won't bother asking if you build up your aw feedback from reputable girls. As they may ask for a booking request first so know your reputation being sabotaged with a neg isn't worth messing them about.

Better luck on the next one and probably pick someone with plenty of reviews that seem to be your type.

You could also report her to WhatsApp for running a scam through their platform.
Probably not a huge problem for her but they may block her account forcing her to change phone numbers all of which causes her problems

I don't think there's anything wrong with deposits IF you are paying a reputable SP who has a large number of good reviews on here. I wouldn't pay from a bank account though as it would disclose personal info of both the SP and SS.  Using an e-gift card is quick, easy and discreet and does the job.

Some SPs use deposits as a way of getting a commitment from the SS that the booking will actually take place especially if the SS has little feedback on AW.

So it comes down to doing your research and knowing when to say no and walk away.

My golden rule - never pay a deposit to anyone - even if I know them I wouldn't . You just never know. Best to play save and always think never! Especially these days as there are so many scammers around especially on Viva. Girls offering everything whatever you want for cheap price like £80 including anal - as long as you pay a deposit. Don't!

Obviously vs, new girls and ones like this review are more likely deposit scammers, goes without saying, but established sp's who have to spend time and petrol money before the booking on travelling to an outcall, to see a punter with a low aw review count are well within their right to ask for a deposit imo.

There's freaks out there who get off on wasting escorts time, each to their own pay or don't pay..  but you're simply missing out on some good sp's in that case. It's highly unlikely a well-established girl would throw away her reputation for a trivial deposit sum. Again I do pay them on occasion but I trust my judgement and hasn't steered me wrong yet

For me, if a girl asks for a deposit I just move on, there's literally hundreds of decent, reliable, SP's out there that don't......If you do pay a deposit, you take the chance of being scammed.....personal choice at the end of the day

Re Deposits I can only just see the case if it is a well established SP you have no relationship with but the risk is always there just lessened, nobody knows everybody's personal business and things do change quickly

Somebody I have seen numerous times has started asking for deposits due to timewasters which i understand however she quickly sent a follow up to me saying that doesn't apply to me and other regulars.

I didn’t recognise the name on the thread instantly but having looked at the profile I messaged her a couple of months back about a meet in Didsbury - I got red flags straight away although she didn’t ask for a deposit she seemed incoherent and quite aggressive in her comms and also didn’t seem to know where Didsbury was.. or at least where she was based.

Never agreed a meet in the end and I moved on. Seems my gut instinct was right on this one…
