It’s difficult without knowing what was written on here about her, but we can assume she advertises on aw, her boyfriend knew she was an escort, searched for reviews about her on here and got into a jealous rage reading about her exploits. Then tragedy ensued. Can’t see how any of that is our fault?
If she’s engaged lawyers they will milk her dry for no end result.

A nasty case but it sounds like her partner hadn't really accepted that she was working as an escort. He must have signed up on here and was reading reviews of her bookings.  It can't be an easy thing to be reading if you're in a relationship with someone.  The reviews triggered him. He may still be on here and be reading this.

The article is right in that there probably are some dangerous people on here who do blackmail escorts threatening to give them bad reviews if they don't do x. However, I think the mods do a good job of trying to spot them and ban them, but there are limits to what they can do.

Normally any story like this would have a statement which would either provide the opportunity for a rebuttal, or say that an approach was made for a comment, or that there was a refusal or declination to comment.

The fact there isn't is pretty poor.

Poor girl though. No one should have to encounter this kind of attack.

In terms of putting Sex Workers at risk. There was a good point made on one of the threads recently about SPs who don't properly blur their photos in a way them getting outed. https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=371307.0

There is an inherent risk in working in the sex industry. But the fact that her then-partner knew about her work as an SP, then not being able to handle the reviews written about her leading to the altercation is a terrible situation to be in. But UKP can't be blamed for this.

I agree, her getting lawyers involved to shut down UKP is going to be a stupid move from her side as the Lawyers are just going to milk her for a fruitless fight. It just sounds like she wants to continue working as an escort but not have anyone talk about her.

Well without going all Sherlock, it could be that someone who knows the nutter says she is a hooker. This may be done out of freindship or malice. You've seen the reactions of some folks on here towards the thoughts of dating an SP. A fragile ego and a potentially violent nature are an explosive combination. A perceived "humiliation" can be the spark.

Think that a lawyer will advise that a direct closure wouldn't be possible. But seeking a pay out on a no win no fee... Anyhoo, I don;t see how discussing these ramifications in public serves any practical positive purpose for the users of the site. Its for the owners and mods to deal with out of sight.

You’re thinking about proper journalism. Which as Birmingham mail is owned by the mirror is never going to happen.
Just need to look at the sports coverage to see what speculative garbage they print.

In my opinion, UKP is not at fault. The woman make allegations about her boyfriend reading escort reviews - this could be any site I.e adultwork, escort sites (i.e Lush), or other punter sites. Feel sorry for the woman for choosing a boyfriend who punts and is happy for his girlfriend/partner to be punted and gets a thrill from reading their exploits.

Women who decide they want to be a prostitute and sell sex services will have feedback on their appearance (if accurate) and if they deliver well or not (job performance appraisal). If appearance (face/size  description) not accurate and they want to give poor service and take money for no effort - they should be taken to court by the hirer of her services or have a warning of poor performance. Most OP warn other potential buyers and usually give an honest opinion on what you will hire for a designated time and guidance on value for money.

Best way for woman not to have reviews - do not be a prostitute or an escort. The sex worker can also clearly state her preference for the type of buyer she wants and how he should conduct himself during and after the punt (however less income if rules are very stringent)..

Having trying to read this piss poor article with all the damn ads, it's quite clear that the journalist didnt have their priorities right. No mention of what sentence, if any, has been meeted out to this cretinous scumbag of a boyfriend. Nor anything to highlight how he is the one and only perpetrator in this sorry saga. As a society how are deterrents supposed to work if journalists like this can get away from highlighting the actual harmful deeds done.

You make an excellent point - however I saw the news article on my phone, and shared it here on my phone. It would be massive ball ache to copy the text from the article here using my phone. Much easier on my laptop but then if I had to fire that up to do it I wouldn’t have shared it.

I’m only ever on this site on a laptop to write reviews. 99% of my time it’s on my phone.

It doesn't have to be the responsibility of the original poster though. Anyone can copy and paste, just like folks just jump in with links to SPs when folks forget.
