I haven't sent any selfies or pics myself. Only picture of me is from 2002.on the profile watsapp pic.
But there was a recent pic of me on the profile that I've changed now but it's of me not where I live though.
So they've got a recent selfie of you from the profile pic, is that shared on social media elsewhere? It doesn't really matter if they're using tools like
External Link/Members Only Does (did) the WhatsApp on your personal phone have your real name attached to it?
If so, the image is just going to reinforce you are the "John Doe" they're harassing.
As others have said, the number they're calling is from the Dominican Republic. It's probably a scam without basis. But I'd make a punting phone your priority.
If it were me, I'd seriously consider changing my personal phone number. Use the excuse you're getting hundreds of callers trying to sell you bitcoins. But you're not going to get to fully step out of this punting persona by ditching the sim if they know your name and have a recent picture of you.
