Author Topic: Using AW search facility anomaly  (Read 1871 times)

I have noticed an anomaly with the search facility. Using the proximity facility does not in fact list all SP's within the specified area. Use the Country, Region, County Area  search and more SP's appear. It must be to do with how SP's input their location.

I think the reason why is defo based on how SPs enter their profile geo information as you thought ie don't think town or post code are validated just free form text so if they can't spell correctly search wont work well

The proximity seems to be driven from the postcode.  When looking at results from a proximity search, the postcode areas entered will all be the same for the various postcode areas entered.

For example, searching with proximity from RG12:

Rg40 is 0.9 miles
GU15 is 5.3 miles
GU19 is 4.5 miles

If no postcode is entered, the SP doesn't appear in the proximity search.
You can see the postcode if entered by selecting "view a map of the area where XXX lives".
If no postcode, it seems to use a town to show the location.

For example this SP shows Reading as the first location in her list but has Bracknell as her "searchable" location (see map of where she lives).
She doesn't show in proximity searches but does show when searching Bracknell
External Link/Members Only  She's not on HL but illustrates the point.

I think the problem is some girls put in a location which doesn't match the postcode. For example if she lists London > Harrow but puts in a postcode for Glasgow then if you run postcode search for London she will not show up, but if you choose London > Harrow she will

Spot on.  And the converse is the case, if you proximity search in Glasgow, she'll show in the results with London / Harrow as the location.

Yes exactly. It tends to happen to girls who move location frequently and they update postcode and forget to update location, or vice versa.

You also find that if you set an age filter and who doesn't, then any girl who does not put an age does not show up.

I don't, without it there are 2 providers within 10 miles of me, and 16 if I extend it to 15 miles. That is without any other filters being set, such as incall/outcall, price ect. Just a simple female escort within X miles.

It's similar for nationalities, e.g. if you search for British only you won't see SPs that don't state their nationality.

Last week I put a proximity search within 10 miles of a south london postcode and a WG showed up in the results that listed her location as Bristol

this is also true if you exclude nationalities. If you exclude Romanians for example, you exclude anyone listed as romanian or without a nationality listed so probably missing out on some tasty treats

Dont quote me on this but I think this problem has abated somewhat. About a year ago AW removed all unverified profiles then quickly reversed that decision probably because of a drop in revenue

However I notice that new profiles (7000000 range in particular) are verified before they become visible.

My conclusion is they have “grandfathered” all the old unverified accounts but all new ones must be verified with a nationality added.

So I think the problem will start to fade  :hi:

The thing I find the funniest is the wg listed as Stevenage in Hertfordshire.

Then she goes on tour to Nottingham but forgets to change the county.

Anyone searching Nottinghamshire will not see her so a dusty phone perhaps.

Happens a lot  :wackogirl:

It is a widespread assumption that the person managing the profile is the person in the profile but we know that's  not always the case.

There may be a third party maid or agent who is making the changes (or not) as the person in the profile tours around.

How annoying would it be to move to a new town, check your profile and find your agent hadn't set it up correctly.

Fixed that for ya!   :hi:

I do believe SP's have to pay for "Local Escorts" however when you search xx miles from a postcode you get more.
