I hadn't visited this spa since before Covid but was nearby and thought I'd take a look again. It's not a review because there was no agreement reached for a massage, as will become clear later. I arrived about a couple of hours after they opened at 2pm and stayed until around 7.30pm. No change in the entry price at £20. Layout as before the pandemic and looked pretty clean to me. There was no one else there when I arrived and only one other person arrived during my stay - I can't see how they can survive with that level of footfall. One of the jacuzzi was broken and the soap dispenser in the toilets appeared to be filled with fairy liquid! As I was the first to arrive, the steam room was not on but they quickly rectified that. The sauna was on as they appeared to be using it to dry knickers and pyjamas on one of the benches, so presumably some of the girls sleep there overnight.
Regarding the staff, a therapist (wrapped in a towel and hiding behind the door) let me in but barely mumbled a hello and never spoke to me during the visit. Went into reception and paid the more friendly manager. Another therapist appeared to be asleep on the sofa and my arrival was clearly no reason to cause her to rise from her slumbers. A third therapist arrived later but also ignored me. I had intended to have a hour's massage but the total lack of communication from all three therapists put me off. Quite frankly they all looked tired, grumpy and disinterested, and I wondered whether they even wanted to be there. Not worth risking £70 on. Would I return? Yes, but only for the facilities which at £20 has to be value to money.
