Author Topic: Reported to police?  (Read 11303 times)

Offline Ally McFeel

Active punter and SA user here (London and North of the border). Got a call from a private number the other night from some guy asking if it was Ally Mcfeel speaking (knew my punting alias). I said no. He said he'd reported this number to the police for chatting to an underage girl. I laughed and hung up.

No idea what he's on about. Initial thoughts are a jealous boyfriend or someone on the wind up. Considering getting legal advice anyway.

Anyone ever been in a similar spot? For clarity I have never/would never continue chatting to an SP or SB if I suspected they were underage obviously.

I would guess a jealous boyfriend and doubt very much he has reported to Police. Why would he call you to tell you if he had?

Good point. Hopefully it's nothing. Still quite a scare to hear it initially

I honestly would not give it a second thought.

I would say it’s probably a chancer.

Offline bluegene

I had someone sending me emails to my punting email trying it on.

I could see that most was chance (age, nationality, physical apperance, using this site) and wrong but it did get 1 fact right.

After the initial replies to have a laught, I ignored it and after a week I got no more emails.

Have you given a bad review?

There's plenty of ways to report dodgy punters so you wouldn't warn them first. This one has mentioned your ukp name not your aw name so it's connected to something you've done on here.

Assuming they're not the same Id.

Change number if in any doubt.

Sorry, should have been clearer, they mentioned my fake punting name rather than my UKP name so I'm assuming it's someone connected to a girl I've met from AW or SA. No further contact/messages since then. Just sitting hoping it's a load of shit and the coppers don't turn up at my home address

Online bigden40

Whilst I certainly wouldn’t want the cops showing up, presumably you haven’t been chatting to underage girls or indeed anything beyond “chatting”.

And if you haven’t what exactly are the cops actually going to do with that information?

Even so there's plenty of ways to report dodgy punters so why let them know. The message said that the number was logged so change your number if you believe it was reported.

it's a blackmail / extortion attempt. They'll call again demanding payment. When they do, call the police

Offline Ally McFeel

Feel like it's a jealous boyfriend or an extortion attempt.

Just worries me that I've seen so many WGs and SA girls over the last 10 years or so it could be literally anyone. Maybe back before I had a burner phone.

Guess the lesson here is to use a burner and a throwaway sim on PAYG.

Will update if anything comes of this.

and to spot a chancer when one comes along. this looks very much like a chancer who should be told to F-off.

(This assumes that if indeed you did talk to an underage girl, it was only talk and only because you had no reason to believe she was underage and you were not in any way trying to "groom" her!)

Yeah like I said before, I wouldn't continue talking or meet up with anyone I suspected to be underage

Offline NickyBobby

I wouldn’t pay it any attention. I turned my punting phone on once to read a few messages from an unknown number saying they’d sent my phone number, name and address to the police. Probably just a jealous boyfriend or an amateur attempt to scam you out of some cash

I had something similar happen to me but the twist was that this person knew my partners name and threatened to tell her.  They even knew her name.  Absolutely no one knows I on SA.  No family or friends so this really did shit me up.  The grammar was bad and I tried calling the number but no reply.  They threatened to tell her everything about me being in SA unless I told her first.

I once got phoned on punting phone apparently by the police as a number who had called a girl who was now missing.    Think I had called the week before and not seen her.

Said I couldn't help never met her.   Never heard anything again

You have to look at the wider world, and consider how they got to know your partners name, and then made the threats.   If no one in your family knows your on SA, and the one ones to know are the girls you see, it got to be one of them, and now how did they get your partners name

So I would say, look at your social media sites, and is your mobile phone tied to any of them, but I would assume, your using a burner phone.  If not tied to your phone, then have used photos which could link back to you personal details

I dont know if your  in full time employment, and if so, was any of your meets near your work, and could one of the girls walk by your work, also apply this to there boyfriends

We all leave an audit trail around us, using  burner phone limits that route but we talk to ladies, we let stuff slip. I find ladies real names in there email addresses, like wise once you get someone real christian name tracking them can be difficult if they don't have a social media account.  Just put in the name into Facebook say James, hull it will display all the James in Hull area a lot of names but if you where looking at his face as he was giving you one in mish!

We all drop little snippets of our info over time a picture is built up, I see a girl regular over many years. No secrets these days I know her name, her husband and her kids, age, where she lives, her hobbies, parents   and she knows mine even a FB friend now. I do trust her as the trusts me as I know her well and I do not fear anything these days, my wife passed away last year and that's the only person I would worry about finding out.

I had something similar although they didnt really know anything about me so I just had some fun with it. I was waiting for her to demand money but all she ever did was say I had to tell my wife. I never really understood what the motivation behind it was

It doesnt matter if you speak to an underage girl

Im sure law only applies if she tells u shes underage and you knowingly participate or show intent

Or you ignore the fact and shes a kid and its obvious

Obviously you walk away and bolt

Nope. If you fuck a minor that's statutory rape, regardless of whether she lied about her age and you believed her.

It's a known scam.

Just a boyfriend or pimp who's trying to shake down a few punters with threats

Offline fed24

Known scam that has been reported/discussed in various threads on this forum. As the OP stated they already use a Punting name and I will presume they are using a Punting phone so there is nothing to worry about!

If it was me I would:

1) Switch to a new Punting name/pseudonym
2) Take the sim out of the punting phone and after driving a nail through it get rid of it plus the phone after wiping anything on it...it has served its purpose of protecting his anonymity!
3) Buy new punting phone
4) Get back to happy punting!

It will be a scummy boyfriend/pimp in all likelihood trying it on!

Absolutely not required.

I suppose it is down to where you draw the line, for me getting a phone call from with someone accusing me of contact with a minor in relation to prostitution would cross the threshold of the punting phone and sim getting ditched. Phones can be geolocated* and I would not want it on my possession from that point regardless of it being a scam, the scumbag could still send the number off to the Police out of spite. Considering the incredible low cost and ease of getting a new punting phone and sim I would prefer the peace of mind. The whole point of a punting phone is that it is disposable. Up to the OP what he does in the end.

*Actually this raises a good point, the Punting phone should remain off whilst you are in proximity of your home.

The geolocation operates even when the phone is off.  Take out the battery before you get home.  Oh wait... modern phones, the battery is baked in.  I wonder why...?

Overthinker here. I'm scared of going to an WG and not knowing there true age. One thing I do is chit chat and ask how old they are. Often you'll get the odd how old dyou think I am and then wink but in most cases you get an answer. I've only had one case last year where she said she was 18 but I had serious doubts so I walked and phoned the police. this was late april last year and I went a few month not punting cus it freaked me out. Not sure what happened afterwards tbh and did not hear about it on the local paper so I guess it might have been legit

In my experience with WGs, they do not tolerate "chit chat", just relevant information is exchanged.  :unknown:

Very vaguely. I saw this girl in this flat once - she was there with her friend and their pimp. One night I booked to see the friend and when i got there texted to see if she was ready and got a call from I assume the same guy asking what was going on, why I was calling her etc. I think I just hung up and went with a plan B. If you have a punting phone toss the sim, if you haven't  - dear me.
