Sad news indeed, I'd heard he had been suffering from cancer , one of the Premier  Leagues top players

Reading about him he seems to have been a decent bloke and very well liked ... certainly an excellent footballer and always came across as a jovial and happy character on TV sports shows ... very sad to hear about his death ... RIP Gianluca and i'm sure football fans of whichever team they support will be saddened by the news

R.I.P. Gianluca Vialli.

A great footballer and a great manager. Even though I am not a Chelsea fan I have always admired and respected him. I even had the good fortune to meet him briefly when I was working in a Mayfair restaurant, circa 2009.

My post is not about football, but about cancer, which has taken away many members of my family, including my Grandmother of pancreatic cancer aged 61. I am the same age as Vialli and I think that now is a good time to get checked. Pancreatic cancer has a reputation of being difficult to treat because it is diagnosed too late; if found early then the outcome is better. Also, for guys of my age Prostate cancer is another to look out for. I believe this can be done with a blood test.

So soon after Pele’, also of cancer, let us all take care of ourselves – Happy New year to every one.
